It's cause Holt has never had someone like Jake in the police before. They've all left him out of everything and always discriminated against him. The fact that Jake did that was very important.

We stan Jake. He punched his former hero for being homophobic, when one of Terry's daughters said she didn't wanna be a girl (although that was only because she had heard that women were treated lesser than men) he said she didn't have to be one if that's who she is, he helped Rosa come out to her parents, and just a ton of other stuff.

@Uvaaren i agree that it is insensitive. However, I think that if the writers used either "asexuals" and "nerds" by themself then the meaning of it wouldn't really come through. Like, "asexual nerds" as in they are so enveloped in studying and smarts they don't have time for dating.

*just for the record:* -you can't "dress" gay -you can't turn gay people straight -a gay person can't be straight for a person of the opposite gender, that's only bi/pan/queer people -don't say the f-word if you're not a gay man -let people be who they are and don't assume everyone's straight and cis the clips in this video are just jokes and some of them are a bit outdated. that doesn't make the shows bad, at the time, this was politically correct/tolerant. but don't see the jokes as things you should really say or do in real life. except for maybe the things on brooklyn nine nine. you can love all of these shows, just don't forget about this. happy pride month!
