The three Christian communities that have uneasily shared their holiest site for centuries are embarking on a large-scale project to restore the ancient stone floor of the Jerusalem basilica.
The project includes an excavation that could shed light on the rich history of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City, built on the site where Christians believe Jesus was crucified, died and rose again, the central event of the faith celebrated every spring on Easter.
It marks a further improvement of ties among the Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic churches. In the past, they have come to blows over the site, which they share under a delicate arrangement dating back to the mid-19th century. Three other denominations also have clearly defined access to the church.
“The cooperation among the three communities is the most important thing,” said Rev. Francesco Patton, the head of the Catholic Franciscan order devoted to preserving Christian sites in the Holy Land. “It shows to the entire world that it is possible among Christians of different churches and communities to have a fraternal relationship.”
The three communities came together in 2016 to restore the Holy Edicule on the site where Jesus is believed to have been buried in a cave tomb - the first large-scale renovation since the clean-up after an 1808 fire.
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to traditions dating back to the fourth century, it contains the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, where he is believed by Christians to have been buried and resurrected. After allegedly seeing a vision of a cross in the sky in 312, Constantine the Great converted to Christianity, signed the Edict of Milan legalising the religion, and sent his mother Helena to Jerusalem to look for Christ's tomb. With the help of Bishop of Caesarea Eusebius and Bishop of Jerusalem Macarius, three crosses were found near a tomb, leading the Romans to believe that they had found Calvary. Constantine ordered in about 326 that the temple to Jupiter/Venus be replaced by a church. After the temple was torn down and its ruins removed, the soil was removed from the cave, revealing a rock-cut tomb that Helena and Macarius identified as the burial site of Jesus. A shrine was built, enclosing the rock tomb walls within its own. In 327, Constantine and Helena separately commissioned the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem to commemorate the birth of Jesus. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built as separate constructs over the two holy sites: the great basilica (the Martyrium visited by Egeria in the 380s), an enclosed colonnaded atrium (the Triportico) with the traditional site of Calvary in one corner, and across a courtyard, a rotunda called the Anastasis ("Resurrection"), where Helena and Macarius believed Jesus to have been buried. The church was consecrated on 13 September 335. Every year, the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates the anniversary of the Dedication of the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He [a]made us accepted in the Beloved.
amen
Zahi Shaked, thank you for this beautiful video. Thank you for the extended time you spent showing the Praetorium, the site where Jesus was mocked and beaten. I have never heard a Jewish person speak about Matt 27:25, "His blood be on us and our children." I'd like to give you the perspective of an evangelical Christian. First of all, in a way, Jesus Himself canceled that curse when He said in Luke 23:34: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Also, the Bible makes it clear, both Old Testament and New Testament, Romans 3:23-24 that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We believe God loves Israel and the Jewish people, as Jesus wept over Jerusalem, and He will never stop loving them. Romans 1:16 says the gospel is the power of God for salvation for all who believe, first for the Jew, then for the Greek. God will never, ever give up on the Jewish people. So much pain the in the crucifixion story! The pain of Peter denying He knew Jesus, and pain of Mary seeing Jesus die, the pain of the disciples who were too scared to stay with Him during the crucifixion. But remember Jesus said in the book of John ch 10:18, no one takes His life from Him, He lays it down of His own accord. His death and even the beating He took had a purpose, and Jesus was sent by the Father to pay for the sins of all who would believe in Him. And when He rose from the dead He now has the power to break every curse. I hope this helps your understanding of how Christians see the gospels. God bless you!
Hi my friend was just thinking about your videos today.
amazing indeed a blessing
Thank you for sharing this blessed experience with us! God bless...

Help my heart O lord 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Zahi for your wonderful tours. You wonder about the name Barnabbas. I have several books by Friedrich Weinreb, a German Jew who gave many lectures and left behind a whole library of tapes and other writings on Jewish biblical interpretation. One book is about the Gospel of Matthew. In it, he also discusses the name Barabbas and explains it just as you do. Not only in this book, but also in others, he addresses the topic that the Bible always speaks of the double, the twin, the mirror image. Unfortunately, I'm not at home at the moment and have to write from memory. It is a fundamental philosophy of the bible. For me, it is perhaps best compared to the horizontal eight and the yin/yang of the Chinese. But it's not just philosophy. Research has shown that we are actually created as twins in the womb. Sometimes twins are born, sometimes they grow into each other. Sometimes this can be seen with additional body parts, sometimes the twin has completely disappeared into the body of one and is encapsulated, and most of the time it no longer grows and is found in the afterbirth. Our ancestors may have known more about this than we can possibly imagine and part of our human psychology is searching for our lost twin. In this sense, the texts of the Bible are intended to have a healing effect on the subconscious. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_Weinreb ttps://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/פרידריך_ויינרב

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, [d]and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Bedankt

If you go to Wikipedia there is a letter from a Lentulus Governor the Jerusalemites to the Roman people..... there is a description of him, a letterin the old archives in Jerusalem.
The word NAPKIN in STRONGS exhaustive concordance #4676 means For swear cloth, Sudarium. Towel for wiping perspiration from the face or binding the face of a corpse ( handkerchiefs, napkins ) I believe that’s the SHROUD JOHN 11.44 JOHN 20.7 And the NAPKIN which was about HIS HEAD not lying with the linen clothes, but WRAPPED TOGETHER in a place by itself.♥️Jesus was a NAZERENE from Nazareth Matthew 2.23 ♥️🇨🇦🕊🇨🇦♥️
Jesus taught Nicodemus that our point of view was limited....look from God's point of view...being born from above by the 'SPIRIT' of the living God. (Nicodemos thought he had to reenter his mother's womb.) He taught Nicodemos the importance of 'personal trust'... thus 'Spiritual surrender.'' 🌏☮AND💜✝ PS: Zahi...thanx for finding James to speak to us all.
No crowd of people ❤❤❤

@@zahishaked that's incredible to think how big it was... The third Temple will be just as big I'm sure... I really think it's going to be a beautiful Temple if it gets built ... I'm sure it will serve everyone in the holy city... I'm sure the vision is to bring everyone together in that Temple....
Jerusalem, the 5th Gospel
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-[a]our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
God bless all the Jewish people
The Romans did crown him… with thorns.

Mathew 27:16
Read the letter Pilate wrote to Caesar FYI
The original Fort Antonia collapsed, undermined by the Zealots (in Greek Lestes) in the war of insurrection. Nothing that is in Jerusalem is from the time of Jesus. The Emperor Hadrian destroyed Jerusalem to its foundations in the 2cd century, and on the top of the rubble a New Jerusalem was built with a different layout but many of the cut stones were used for the new buildings that included a Forum, a temple to the God Jupiter in the place of the Dome and a temple to Venus on the top of the Holy Sepulche that was buried under tons of rubble all the way up to the Rock Golgota, for the followers of Jesus not to go there as pilgrims. The new Rome, Byzantine, after converting to Christianity, looked for the traditional places where the Event unfolded, and built churchs and monasteries. Many Roman buildings and temples were destroyed to make room. Bar- Abbas was a title of a 'noble' that was a leader of the Sicarii (a kind of a Hamas top commander) soldier of special operations of guerrilla war that included tactics of terrorism against Romans and of his own people collaboraters, including robbing armament and rich caravans, in resistence against the Romans and the Herodian foreigner dynasty (Idumean). He knew Jesus and his family. And there's the Gospel of Barabbas. As for the America Jew that broke Jesus's statue, he is not crazy, he was following his believes about what is said about Jesus and His Mother, in his Holy Book the Talmude, and is not nice what it is said there. Many people now know what is the Talmude, is out there in the social media as before, it was only mentioned in some books, but not everybody is a reader. That means, in his hatred he believes in Him and is all it takes for one day, 'the crazy' to have a dream about Jesus. The impact will be overwelming, because the statute was like the true body of his obsessed hatred. He deserves everybody prayers so his mind doesn't shatter when Jesus visit him (almost like St. Paul/Saul). I couldn't go on about the 'persecution' of Jews, with the proof that is not about what you said and what had been the ' official' narrative since the II War, but would take too long to mention the documentation. Today, Thursday night, was the last time that Jesus crossed the Kidron Creek on his way to Mt of Olives, and his feet crossed a mini red sea, a mistura of water and the blood of the Passover Kosher lamb, that end up there through the Temple drainage system. Stay safe.

Fortunately, many places were damaged but remained standing. In Antonia's case, indeed the place was completely destroyed.
