Uh no no Jessica is quite considerably behind Taeyeon in terms of vocal skill. She's not bad, but there's a clear technical difference between both Taeyeon and Jessica and it's lack of skill on Jessica's side.

It depends cuz some people can yell and it sound high like a whistle but technically it's not at all lol it's just a very very high pitched scream, you can still hit a whistle without proper technique but a yell and a controlled whistle are different that's from what I understand my mom telling me about it she may be able to scream high but she may not be able to hit the actually note there's some things you can do yelling but not singing I guess but who knows she may be able to

cierra universe Only people who have a whistle register can hit them (Red Velvet Wendy has a whistle register). Idk if Jessica has a whistle register but if she doesnt then she might be able to do super head voice (very high falsetto almost mistaken for whistle tones). People always thought Christina Aguilera had a whistle register but it turned out that she's just using super head voice (she doesn't have a whistle register at all).

I thing we should stop drag TTS on every discussion about Jessica or Sunny's vocal. They both have wide vocal range, great falsetto, vibrato voice, can riff 'n' run ... They can make a great duet or a great trio with Sooyoung.. They can shine on a whole different league than TTS, they can focus on jazz (Sica will love it), trot (Sunny, Sooyoung have intermediate to advanced trot technique), R'n'B ... while TTS focused of ballad and dance pop. HYY will focus on rap and hip-hop, perfect division!

Actually, Jessica's voice blends with Taeyeon's /much/ better than Tiffany's does, just compare any of her duet covers with Taeyeon to Lost In Love. Seohyun's really versatile and blends with Taeyeon well too, so they would've done really well together too.

Even jessica more blend, or seohyun does better, their duet have other tone, and ussually have different audience. That's the point that you never wanna know so you always "jessica amd seohyun better than tiffany" 😂

Jessica falsetto, and higher range is so beautiful to me. The light soft tone of it really gives off an angelic feel.

@SMAnthonyW I would say the A5 would be very pushed, but G#5, I agree I think girls can just practice their whistle register, Jessica can just learn to control it... I hope she will belt more, she has potential to be a great diva belter

i think with confidence, rest, and more practice, she could hit G5 or dare i say, even G#5 or A5. if her screams can reach G#7... that means her chest voice can go that much higher as well. i hope jessi can hit a G5 in the future! i'll be really happy.

You're absolutely right. But it was still great to see them perform old songs and still sing with so much ease. Especially with all of their Japanese releases, TaeSic ad-libs for days.

Oh, I usually only make videos for singers who haven't had their ranges covered, there is a video for IU out there, and it's pretty much all Ik of her range too, I dunno bout her singing higher notes or lower....but I'll do a complete one! :3

taeyeon and jessica are parallel..in the same page when it comes to different techniques..only difference is, taeyeon's voice is more universal, jessica only fits certain songs..thats why taeyeon is the main vocalist.. but mainly..both of their voices are blended in the main chorus/background/support for their songs.. -.-

Uhm, they're both main vocals though. Also please stop butting Taeyeon's name. I know it's hard not to compare them but both are vocalists in their own right. We'll appreciate it if you stop these comparisons which can trigger heated arguments.

@1zhxzhx oh, i wouldn't that deep into the subject, to me, a whistle is a whistle, a whistle is what is used for the higher notes in the 6th and 7th octave and is not connected, that's good enough for me, so to me, all of them are whistles, anyone can have it if they practice it

I said SM ranked them this way in singing category: 1- Taeyeon 2- Jessica 3- Seohyun 4- Fany ... and that's why I said I don't care about their ranking when it comes to my personal opinion.

Oh sorry, not only SM, anybody with musical knowledge knows Jessica is a better vocalist, with better technique, liking the sound of someone's voice is merely personal taste and does not come into question. So as you said personal ranking and you can love their voice, but can't deny their faults :3

I don't know about that, Ryeowook can even possibly Alto....but yeah, he is a high tenor and I don't honestly think Kyuhyun is a bass, though he has a strong lower voice, he is not that good at singing low notes, I mean, I've never heard him sing a true low bass note before, so to me he is more like a dramatic tenor

Oh, well, I can kinda tell closely or almost accurately by remembering notes, I can sing a note and know the feeling I have when singing it therefore I'll be able to determine what note it is, the octave isn't hard to tell! lol But of course, I always use an online tuner and a piano to help me, cuz if not, it'd just take waaay too long! :3 and thank you so much! lol @ calling me kitsune, that's cute lol

actually, define pop, because I see pop singers venturing into many genres, like R&B, Soul, Pop, Ballad, Pop-Rock and such, so they do need quite some vocals, Jessica has a D3 to F#5 full voice vocal range, many singers don't have such vocals, she can't go up to an A5 in mix, but she can use her head voice up to D6, if she ventured into singing more of her Tamia stuff, she could show us her full voice, she doesn't like range, she lacks confidence more than anything :3

I love powerful mix notes, but a nice head voice note would always be nice too, like a nice higher controlled, crystal clear like Beyonce's in Emotions or SunYe's in When You Believe Oh yes, I love Sunny's D6 too, she hit i very clearly
