This score seems very high to me. She didn't have any obvious wobbles, but she has built in deductions like bent knees in her acro elements and a low back leg on the switch leap. Finals will surely be interesting.

This going 8+ in execution is crazy

Well its better execution for sure than her 2022 Worlds AA routine that scored 13.733. Form is cleaned up on the switch 1/2 and the korbut, not big check on the wolf turn, better landing on the dismount. However that 13.733 last year was very generous also...

Flow of movement and pacing throughout the routine. The pacing of Jessica’s is what this COP is looking for, not saying that I agree or disagree but yes.

Difficulty is only 0.1 apart, because Shilese’s routine doesn’t maximize connection bonus at all, so even though her big acrobatic skills are riskier and more spectacular, the D score is close. And the cleanliness is similar so no it’s not overscored. This routine sure is giving 97 Gogean boringness though.

Maybe they’re not overscoring her. Maybe the judges who’ve been through hours upon hours of seminars and had to pass exams understand what the current beam code calls for better than you do. Her form’s also improved a lot over the past year, especially on bars and beam.
