Well in this context, it's a "brick joke". They throw the brick in this episode and it falls back to the ground in a later one.

The tennis ball part is incredible acting. The subtle stumbling over words is so good.

MAnnaconduit1 she may not have been.She was dating that tool from buzzfeed and his marriage just ended.They shared a moment and at some point they probably met up again and they were both single at this point, realized they had a connection and began dating. I think Mr.Peanut butter wanted to do this relationship right and dated her for several years until he was sure he did want to marry her.In other episodes you see in a short time frame he was married twice to women who were not the nicest.One cheated on him openly, and the other one had no respect for him or his career. Both marriages did not end on a good note and ended abruptly, so they probably did not even try to work on their problems. Whereas with Diane they go to counseling cause they know they both have problems they need to work on and both want to work on them cause they love each other.

One thing that makes me absolutely love someone is their ability to distance themselves from themselves and make jokes at their own expense. Jessica Biel is one of them now. :)

She had to ask the writters to be mean to her because she didn't like the smacks on her acting job enough

She's a good sport. I Vick reference was aces.

They cut it out, but I was honestly glad Jessica had the hot/cold coffee dilemma. I have that issue ALL the time and it was nice to know I’m not alone.

"Michael Vick made me a very strange offer" I did NOT catch that the first time I watched this.

"What if someone already rented the episodes they want?" "Well they could just get something else! Like _The Illusionist!_ ...Or _The Prestige!_ Whichever one _you_ were in." "Do you _know_ which one I was in?" "Do _you?"_ I like how, for a brief moment, he catches Jessica off guard and she seems to realize that _she_ doesn't even remember, so she just dodges the question and refocuses the conversation around Mr. Peanutbutter instead. And Mr. Peanutbutter isn't even intentionally _trying_ to trick or outwit her here!

Jessica just went from "yea, I know who that is" to "I fucking love her" is less than 3 minutes.

Pretty sure that's part of the joke here. I think I read somewhere that the original idea actually was meant to be somewhat dramatic, until it was completely redone by some writers or studio execs or something and turned into a dumbass comedy instead.
