Man I remember when Jesse dropped his first album I was about 8 years old. My boy had that pink gangster suit with the pink guitar to match but it didn’t look fruity it looked gangster. He was definitely my first guitar hero and one of the main reasons I learned to play guitar when I got in my twenties. Jesse is cold. 💯

I believe I was at the end of high school when Jesse dropped his first one. I’m 57 right now. The 80s never get old. That pink suit you spoke of? 😍

Yeah his attitude was gangster as well! Prince & Jesse allowed me to pick up the axe too! I was 16 & started my first and called it the Date LOL! We had a calendar on the back of a mirror and hollered out, WHATS THE DATE!? SOMEBODY BRING ME A CALENDAR! OH! WEE-OH-WEOHH! Peace fellow funkateer!

in 1984 I was 12yo, Prince's music and artistry blew me away on top of that my parent were divorcing + the feeling that after all there were other freaks like me, it turned me into an hardcore fan, and I did look down on Jesse's work just because Prince wasn't involved....I changed my mind during the COVID lockdown, plenty of time to listen music....Mr Jesse Johnson is a legit King ...

I took my sister, RIP Fly Fede, to her 1st concert to see Jesse and we had front row seats right off the stage’s entrance. When Jesse was walking up the stairs to the stage, I told him that it was her 1st concert, so he came and performed every solo right in front of her. During one of the songs one of his white Stratocaster’s was having a problem and wasn’t working, so he took it off and slid to her, and like an idiot she gave it to the guitar tech. I told her that he was giving her the guitar, but she was to “Love Struck” to keep it. True story…

Sueann Carwell is her name. Check out her music, she is truly gifted.
Her Name is Sueanne Carwell. I think I spelled that right.
Can you help me.......
Funky... but a bit rushed. Jesse is a monster on that guitar.
Just asking why didn't he become a studio musician instead of falling off da map for long time

What happened to Ta Mara & The Seen? I was crazy about them, Jesse found them!!!!
Jesse never got the recognition he deserved. Played with more funk than Prince and Prince knew it…
He sounds wonderful vocally for his thang. Band only ok. They need to learn how to put on a show.
Is that Sonny on Bass? I can't tell by the video.

Ronkat Spearman.
Who is he?
Where do the background vocal samples come from ? Are those stored in her keyboard or do they come from Ableton (i don't see a laptop in stage) ?
