Well the point of the song is he uses drugs to help him cope with his pain and to stop himself from having thoughts and feelings he doesn't want to have. So you can substitute the drugs for whatever habit you do in your life to distract you from your demons and still relate.

Can't be addicted to weed, and lots of people are depressed. Jesse has an outlet for it, his songs. Yet instead of being appreciated for the rawness they hold, they're criticized for being too real lol.

Yeah I saw the neighbourhood in concert a few months ago and it was totally awesome, but Jesse's movements were a little awkward... Like he did the same three motions for pretty much everything and he used a lot of auto tune and stuff, and afterward my mom said that it was from too much smoking and stuff. Not sure how accurate that is but after seeing this, that seems accurate (side note though: I do love this song)
