Seinfeld has a few seasons with comedians in cars and he's an master at reading the room. He knows how to get people on the wavelength he wants while making them comfortable. He's a huge fan of comedians and the art of stand up. I say this as a person who's not a real fan of his stand up but respects him as an artist.

People can hate Jerry's stand-up or even his show, but I think they should respect this man for being worth damn-near a billion dollars but he's still in love w/ stand-up and comedy in general. Most comedians and even musicians get lazy once they start making big money.

Agreed on all points. Anyone who hates Jerry doesn’t understand the depth of Jerry’s wisdom and genius. Doing what he does is incredibly challenging. He’s been around long enough to make it look easy.

He's said it a bunch, and you can tell its true, that he just doesn't really have interest in anything else. Comedy is his one true love. He doesn't need to do it for the money anymore but he needs to do it because it's all he's ever wanted to do.

David had the best line: "I think there's an eclipse going on at your house." hahaha. And I like how Jerry and David both don't feel the need to be funny all the time. Jerry seems like a warm soul, considerate and kind. He seems very happy with his life.

it's beautiful how you can clearly see life crawling back in david's expression. jerry really connected to him in that special place where comedians feel full.

I've worked in construction for 35 years, never easy, every day a grind... still think standing on a stage, by yourself with a room full of strangers has to be 100 times tougher... and these are still two of the best in their business

I really like both these guys tremendously. And it also goes to show you that it matters WHO is criticizing David's whole "unbuttoned shirt" look. I actually asked Spade that exact Q during a "Q & A" segment at the end of his Mirage performance (with Ray Romano). Let's just say I didn't get the same agreement that Jerry got when HE pointed it out here.

I'm reading the book , " Is this Anything ". I love it. I always loved Jerry Seinfeld, but reading the book makes me appreciate him even more.

Check out the audiobook. It's the first audiobook I've ever purchased. I started off with the ebook, and enjoyed it enough and thought..."wouldn't it be cool if Jerry Seinfeld narrates the audiobook?" He does! It is!

Thats likely because Seinfeld respects Spade for being his own comic and not (seeming) to give a shit. That makes Spade worth talking to, which softens the real Jerry Seinfeld.

It's good to be reminded how much hard work actually goes into being successful.

I could listen to these two talk for hours it's like somehow soothing and calming. Looks like Jerry's living in a nice beautiful home and David's rooming shared accomodations.

Lights out with David Spade was EXCELLENT. Covid happened and it got shutdown...... sigh Comedians in Car was one of favorite shows in the last 20 years. We still rewatch it, some episodes dozens of times.

One thing about listening to comics talk is that I'd like to think that if I were in the conversation, they would like me, and find me funny as well. And that is a special thing. (Tina Fey said this about being on Letterman.) Jerry said (many years ago) that one reason he got into doing stand-up was that: "I wanted to be one of 'those guys' over there doing jokes on stage and talking together afterwards." That seems to be a basic element of his success.

This was a fantastic ,and fascinating genuine conversation between to guys at the top of their game. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute - and can't wait to get Jerry's book.

Nothing better then when comedians sit down and chat. Simple enjoyment

I remember being at All American and seeing Jerry's mom drive by with a sign on her roof, reminding us to watch her son on Carson. Massapequa was and still is awesome ^__^

Comics talking to comics. My favorite conversations.

Especially love when Jerry talks craft. His own rhythm, style - i.e. a joke began, ended-up - i.e. the revisions/performing aspects. I've never heard David talk about his own writing process - but it'd be similarly fascinating.

I love how honest and relaxed they both are! 👍
