After a well received DRINKING WINE SPO DEE O DEE he told the folks his point of view. Even in the 60s he's had always a few slow songs in his stage act - remember the great GRANADA TV Show when he played YOU WIN AGAIN and YOUR CHEATING HEART. During his 72 Tour he played well mixed shows with lots of country and blues songs. When people got worried, he told them YOU MUST ACCEPT MY KIND OF COUNTRY SONGS, IT IS JERRY LEE LEWIS MUSIC. In 72 he was clear minded and his star was wide above. In 77 he was often drunk, in a bad shape and maybe full of bitterness - his hits got fewer and fewer - Middle age crazy was yet to come. His band was too thin and small. I would say, he was angry with himself, his situation and, of course, with the "stupid" fans - No problem in Hamburg 1972 with also lots of Country tunes - think about it...

They should have been glad to be there and to have the possibility to hear and see the killer, playing his great songs - if country or rock 'n' roll it doesn't matter, he's great in both genres! Though i think he was a bit drunk at this appereance. You can tell it by how his voice sounds; even then, he's great. but don't get him angry hahaha

I know a guy who worked aound at a show he did in the shoals and he told me how he got riled up and started throwing monitors...all of around 15-20ft

Experienced something like this on a new year's night on Jekyll Island, Georgia. Jerry was playing one of his fast tunes when a couple got up and started dancing. Jerry stopped the music, stood up and pitched a fit , like in his song here. The couple walked out on him, followed by seventy percent of the audience. I never seen a professional musician do this before, and there was some tough talk from everything from.a butt whipping to a hanging. Of coarse the show ended and the cops surrounded him and hustled him off the Island. He never came back for another concert. All this for one couple dancing to his music.

Elvis is the king he sold the most records nobody tops Elvis not Jerry Lee or Little Richard, it's about business not about egos. Jerry Lee is a good musician & he"s also an arrogant jerk & a pervert & a baby snatcher which wrecked his career.by being stupid & marrying his cousin. Hes a great artist but that's about it. His attitude sucks. Maybe he should give a RATS ASS because without fans he's nothing.

@@MIKECNW I am talking about Germany. They all knew about His 50s Hits. Maybe the Starclub record. Everything From the Country field was hard to get via import Dealers. On the Radio you also could Not listen to Nashville stuff. Believe me, I am listen to Radio since the mid 70s and I am following the Killer for over 40 years.

If that guy got on stage Jerry would have beat his ass .

Jerry had to carry to offer Germans on stage to a fight.He was lucky that he walked off of that stage..German's are the hardest rock fans to please,and the hardest to understand when they open their drunk ass mouths..You go Jerry Lee,glad you made it back home killer..

This was the Teddy Boy (greasers) biggest year around Europe, so everybody wanted to hear rockabilly music. Country music doesn't really go down well in any other place other than the US. Anyway, love his music, country of not.

Even the Beatles cant touch Elvis he outsold the Beatles. Jerry Lee is a good pianist & showman but not as good a singer as Elvis. The only artist Elvis thought was better was Roy Orbison Elvis called him the greatest singer on the planet.

If the fans are paying money to see their favorite artist The artist has to be 100% professional & curtious & respectful to the crowd. Performers need to leave their attitude & egos at home & not bring it to the stage. Regardless if it's Elvis or Jerry Lee etc. I only seen Lewis live twice & he was nice to the crowd. I'm glad I never saw him at his most nastiest & arrogant. Music is supposed to be fun & uplifting not about egos & being the best. There's room for everyone. The world doesn't revolve around any one person.....not even Elvis.

Jerry Lee is a great artist with a suck attitude, he takes himself way too seriously he has no sense of humor. He's playing rock n roll music & it's fun happy music it's not supposed to be serious. Jazz musicians like Jelly Roll Morton had an ego & claimed to invent Jazz. Buddy Rich was arrogant with an ego but Jazz is serious complex music. Rock n roll & Rockabilly isn't. Elvis brought it in in 1954 & he had a sense of humor. Jerry Lee & Little Richard were the 2 most competitive artists & took themselves too seriously.

This was his LIFE , all musicians take their music Seriously & so they should !! --- did you know him ? --- I did know him & YES ,he did have a sense of humour at the right time & Place !! ---- as re.his former wife Jaren , they were separated from each other. at the time of her death , they were living miles apart from each other !! Anyway ,he was away from his home on tour !! --- as re. Shawn , she died of odema fluid on the lungs ,she took some of his medication ,which she shouldn't have done.
