Great bit of behind the scenes info. Becky's a real student of the game. She gets a note from Vince McMahon and studies and seeks guidance and it worked. That punch she threw on Charlotte looked real!

She deserves a lot of credit for asking for help/advice. Even with a basic move. Improve where you can with anything in life. Even basics. And don’t be embarrassed about it. And that punch was the best. As much as I’m a fan, her punches have are far from the best - not Dean or Shane bad at least - so if she’s wanting to make them great like she did Tuesday, all the respect in the world to her and more power to her and lots of respect

The King has always had the greatest punches in all of wrestling. He's one of the only guys i've ever seen that can make the entire audience go "ooh" at every punch. He also has the best looking punches as he has the guy down and he starts hammering their head and his knee sort of bounces against the mat really fast.

It's like they said here. Jackie Fargo threw great punches and he was top of the Memphis territory for a long, long time. He influenced all of them. They all wanted to emulate him so they learned the punch.

Most wrestlers (sorry Vince, "Superstars") don't throw decent looking punches these days. The modern style of wrestling seems to teach them to hit with their arms. I like the old fashioned way where the wrestler stomps their foot to give it a more aggressive look.

@@randellhowardiv8168 some aspects of the business just don't need messing with. I mean there's a lot of moves and techniques that you don't see anymore, not because they are deemed to be unsafe, but I think because they're presumed to be 'uncool'. But I'd rather see a match with decent looking punches and vertical suplexes than slappy kicks and dives that don't look remotely effective.

A old school rule of pro wrestling that is around still in most indepent places is that closed fist strikes/punches are illegal. So the wrestlers do open hand strikes, and forearms. Punches were meant for heels to do behind the referee's back. To break the rules and get heat during a match. It was the kayfabe excuse why people didn't get their faces busted open with the strikes. "Punches" are legal in WWE now, but it's a habit most wrestlers keep.

@@AlphaProto but even with the tradition of not throwing a closed fist punch, it's a testament to how effective and well executed the wrestlers used to do them. So I'd still argue that the old way of stamping the foot is best.

Also, use the punch sparingly. As Al Snow put it, it's the fakest thing we do.
