One week ago, I was watching Greg Booth on YT, and already playing the banjo and guitar, I resolved to take a step in the dobro direction. I knew of Jerry but until now I didn't know his story. I had my acoustic guitar in my lap watching Greg and laid it down flat and got the HANDLE OFF OF MY MOM'S STAINLESS STEEL POTATO PEALER and started sliding it up and down the neck. And now I'm back on YT just now learning that the greatest dobro player alive (since Josh Graves) started in almost the exact same way! I hope I can be half as good as him someday.

At first I though Jerry Douglas was a bit arrogant. But through the years of listening to him and Union Station among other projects I have a great deal of respect for him. He is among the greats of Bluegrass.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. My initial feeling toward Jerry was completely unfounded. After I learned more about the man, I quickly changed my attitude toward him.
