ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:
These selections are from the famous Frank Corsaro production of LA TRAVIATA at New York City Opera during the 1968 season and feature the fabulous singing of Jerome LoMonaco, as well as the stunning Pat Brooks and Calvin Marsh. Surely, this is a performance that would be difficult to replicate these days. Each track features numerous reviews of Jerry's interpretation of the role of Alfredo, career memorabilia, and ends with a multiple-frame, comprehensive career biography. Every selection contains slightly different career memorabilia, so if you are interested, be sure to view them all!
I was fortunate to have been a student of Jerry's and his older brother Thomas LoMonaco. They were extraordinary singers and master teachers with significant teaching legacies. More importantly, they were wonderful mentors and friends, often sharing insight into the heritage of great singing, vocal quality, style, etc. They helped me (and many others) immensely during the course of my career and are sorely missed.
Enjoy one of the truly great lyric tenor voices!
