I'm really conflicted on JD. I dont wanna come at him but Usher's first Major hit " You make me wanna" was seemingly created from music that was submitted to SoSo in 1996 from Unknown Productions featuring the group SuHaji. I know this cause I was a member. No shade but it is what it is. I remember the day the song premiered on Video soul and we were watching and listening in disbelief.

I was in the group but I did not write the song nor did I produce the track. And it wasn't the lyrics that was taken it was the music. This was when So So Def was looking for their first male group. From what I remember there was decisions going on between our group and another group. Then we were told that JD decided to go with the other group because they were younger and there was a set of twins in the group. We were okay with losing the position to another group which ended up being Jagged Edge then months later we heard the music when the Usher video premiered. There was some disagreement between the writer and the producer because it was a suit being filed. There were a lot of shady things that happened after that lawsuit was filed and the rift broke up the group... This was 1996.
