Everybody quick to scream "no one is selling records anymore. Rappers can't sell records" it's cause the music is trash!!! Adele still making platinum music. J cole went platinum because he put out quality music with no features and minimum promo. all these rappers using the same formula and getting the same results. Get mustard on the beat, future on the hook, and drop the album randomly like beyonce... CLOWNS

Longevity is everything and you look great in that suit!

JD droppin jewels! I'm definitely in agreement with the issue of how fast music comes out. It's cool to put music out to stay poppin' and relevant. But as a DJ, songs need more time to breathe before the next one. The next one be hot, but it kills the one that's out. Just my opinion... Great interview though!

He is 100% right on his notion of attention spans. People do still have them. Cole sold a mill with Forest Hills Drive - NO FEATURE ARTIST. Kendrick sold a lot. I know they are the conscious rappers but they have the proof. Put an album out every year and get love. It can still be done.

I agree with Jermaine at 2 main points when he was talking about the way music is put out I feel like if a song is timeless it's going to stick with a person no matter how long it's been out. Most artist these days are only putting out seasonal music not music that will last for decades, & people can go back to it 10 years from now & play the song/album like it came out yesterday. Also I agree with having someone in your corner "quarterback" as he said because artist development is very much needed in today's music industry & I feel that's one of the main problems with these artist they come in this industry clueless & now they have nobody to show them how to conduct themselves!

One thing I can agree wit is dudes are rushing to put music out..how u drop a studio album then a couple months later you dropping a mixtape..you didn't let the album grow on ppl, then the hot shit be on the mixtape now they really forgot about the album.Niggas got classic mixtapes instead of classic albums

people can watch TV shows on for free on youtube. JD is right. if you throw your music out like trash, people will use it and throw it away like trash.

The music has been put into the hands of people that don't understand or even care about the #culture. Jermaine Dupri understands the music as well as the culture. Few executives can dissect the 3..... #culturevultures

Hate is a very strong word. Maybe it just wasn't meant for her. God is always in control.

+Raven Evans He didn't let her fade away, she stop working. She got caught up in the success, instead of building a team to help her stay on track. She thought JD was going to hold her hand the whole way. Development and good work-ethic got to have them. Within the last year or 2 she's been trying to build herself back up to when she first came out.
