In 2008, he encouraged a lot of employees to buy stock options, and then stock crashed and everyone lost money. So he offered his employees to sell their stock options at the price they bought it. This year, they had no layoffs even though everyone is doing so.

they're not laying off because demand for their chips are going through the roof while other tech companies are overdue for trimming fat, after seeing X running just fine with 1/5 of their original staff.

I can see that he was quite arrogant.. but failure brought him down to Earth, and today, he is such a humble guy.
AMD boys think that AMD is the underdog.. But Jensen was an AMD Chip designer, leaving big AMD and starting his own small company.. :D
As an engineer, he's what I aspire to be. What a powerful and down to earth mind
For context, 20% of NVIDEA would be nearly $200 BILLION!!! His company made a billion x returns. Surely, an all-time world record! Impressive, humble and strong man

Been beating myself up a bit that I sold my 53 shares of NVDA at $374 each back in May 2023 and now it is at over $1,100. Now thinking of liquidating a few other investments to rebuy but afraid to do so. I also currently have 500k in savings making me next to nothing.

Brilliant engineer. He single-handedly put NVIDIA on the global map of high-performance computing/processing. Without NVIDIA computational chipsets, many areas of science, engineering and technology would not be here doing what they are able to do today.

Without Nvidia actively sabotaging their entire competition in the late 90s early 2000s computing would be ahead by 5 years at the MINIMUM,they would just be somewhat less dominant and not even less sucessful necessarily.

He is certainly an every-man's guy...anyone can relate to this guy, he has a good persona for sure, and Nvidia..well, what can you say .....OK hell I'll say it...it's going to be one of those company's that will be at the forefront of mankind's diaspora into the cosmos...it's going to be there, in the background, running all kinds of mission critical systems from navigation to monitoring plasma confinement in fusion engines and predictive collision avoidance etc etc the applications are limitless....big things have small beginnings.....

No need innovation ARM: designs great tech, but doesn't manufacture Nvidia: has Jensen Huang and his leather jacket along with the big eye meme. "Double the performance. Half the cost."

Their first card was released in November 1996. The S3 ViRGE 3D was released in 1995, and I'm sure you can find even earlier examples.

2:22 Back when this was filmed, those 20% of Nvidia were worth 2 billion dollars. As of today June 3 2023, they are worth 194.2 billion Sure, he got diluted, but still owns 3.6% of a trillion dollar company.

Fun Fact: Nvidia used to make motherboard for Intel processors and it got so good Intel threatened Nvidia and removed the x86 mobo license. FAST FORWARD today....look how the tables have turned...GPU is so dominating in AI now INTEL will have to license IPs from Nvidia. Intel is behind IN EVERY SEGMENT: GPU (Nvidia/AMD) - Mobile (Apple M1/Arm/Qualcomm) - CPU/Desktop (AMD) - ane even Servers (AMD/Proprietary-in House design).

Fun fact: "Apple M1/ARM/Qualcomm" are all ARM. ARM doesn't make CPUs/SoCs. BTW you didn't mention gaming consoles, where it's also AMD (Xbox, PS) and ARM (Nintendo Switch). This is not a small market, either.

Investors frown at business doing computer hardware manufacturing, cause of too much capital and risk even now, they only want service based companies or SaaS, but this guy proved investors wrong, that you can become big by selling a pc component only 1% of pc user population needed(early 2000s)...
Networking is important. “ they invest in great people”. He worked for a guy who went to school in Stanford. His saying comes opposite to what Peter Thiel said about starting in a less competitive market.
