Whenever I hear container house I automatically shut down because so many of them look like walk-in closets. This one has personality and it's really big. I love it.

That's also the most practical way to insulate these in terms of thermal performance and health. Interior Insulation is known to cause condensation issues when people live and breath in there

The wildlife is very exciting here! Harley has DM (canine ALS) so won't get any better sadly but he is still enjoying his mountain life.

I am amazed that she was able to do all of what we see and hear about here for 140k 4 years ago. Especially with trades involved. What a magnificent 2 acre spot and beautiful home.

I love this tiny home it's a little different from most.

I love the exterior, and the bright white interior, but what I probably love the most is the idea of standing in the shower and feeling like it's outdoors!

I love the idea of putting the insulation on the outside and then covering it up with that wood, it is beautiful. It’s probably more upkeep in the future having the outside finished instead of just painting out the container but it fits in beautiful with your mountains.

Actually because I didn't seal the wood by choice and let it naturally weather I have very little upkeep. The caulking around windows etc has been the only thing I have had to do maintenance wise.

Yes I have seen so many Container Home Videos..love to see more creative homes of this housing subject..Container Living..

Watched 100's of container videos and noone insulates the outside. Always like that option, great open layout, love the open bathroom. Great location. Who needs a main house when you've got this.

Closed cell spray foam in the corrugation and then SIP's panels over that. They think I ended up with an R53 rating!

Love this have often thought of having one myself, id like a partial wall myself between my main bed and sitting area though for privacy, I love the exterior wood of the container its beautiful. as are the decks , will be awesome with the hot top the views will be gorgeous as they are from the inside , love the amount of space this tiny home has it is nice bright and airy. and very unique with use of metal and wood so cool. the mirror in the bathroom is one of my fav. greet job nice place to live with your wee dog bet he likes it as well

I would have to drill screws into my SIP's panels though and I don't want to affect the integrity of those after spending so much money on them

Wonderful home. The cladding was so good to look at and it blended so well with the landscape. What a fabulous location. I’d love the snowy times and the summer sunsets. I’d be a little worried about Mr Bear. I liked the openness of the home. I’d just have a folding free standing screen ready to place when using lavatory or shower! Very homey. Good luck, lucky lady! The land is still a work in progress with the main house eventually being built in the open area. I am also still working on fire mitigation.

Beautiful home! Thanks for sharing. I love the idea of insulating from the outside. Just wondering though if you have any condensation issues. Most of the build I saw is insulated on the inside. Would appreciate if you could provide a feedback. Thanks in advance.

Yes there has been some condensation around the windows on the extreme cold days but I just wipe them down. I do have a small dehumidifier but have yet to see the conditions extreme enough to use it. Luckily Colorado is a fairly dry state.

Why would altitude affect a convection oven? It makes it harder to get hot?

I'm not sure, something about the way it heats food maybe? I have to spin things around about half way through baking or one side gets way too hot. Might be the one I have but I have never used one before this so have nothing else to compare it to. I have ever had to turn things around in a regular oven though to cook evenly.

How cold does it get in the winter and how much snow?

Her 40’ container appears more spacious than most. Well thought out design. Does she work from home? Does she have to go very far for groceries? Does the snowfall make that impossible for her, at times? Does she have to shovel snow from her roof on a regular basis? Does she get lonely?

Thank you, I worked very hard on the design and how to best use the space. I do work from home sometimes. Groceries are left than half hour away and do even have a local small market minutes away. I have yet to be "snowed in", I live in a county maintained subdivision so the roads are always plowed within a decent time and surrounded by highways that are also plowed well even in the biggest storms. I have never shoveled snow from the roof, its a shipping container so it's built to withstand a LOT of weight on the roof especially. And nope I have yet to consider myself "lonely" I love living with Harley and enjoy this quiet lifestyle amongst the trees and wildlife.

It's on a crawl space foundation no windows and the house was welded to the corners of the foundation

Reasons like this why the cost of shipping containers has gone through the damn roof in the last 2 years. EVERYONE thinks they can live "off-grid" nowadays when most just are sick of paying taxes.

How do you heat your home in winter?

There is a 4' electric baseboard heater and I also put heated floors in for nice warm feet too

It does have a crawl space where the tankless crawl space and pressure tank for the well are.

The land I got for a hell of a deal, $75k for just over 2 acres, unheard of now. Land prep for utilities, excavation and foundation was about another $75k

Not much imagination/creativity in this build… amazing view… basic build… although it sounds like she has a lot of outdoor projects she wants to complete so maybe a little early to judge… but inside is rather basic compared to a lot of other tiny homes I’ve saw
