Jemez Dancers at Pecos NHP - Feast of Our Lady of the Angels

One of our favorite multi-cultural New Mexico events is the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels (La Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles) as celebrated by Saint Anthony’s Parish of Pecos along with the Pueblo of Jemez and Pecos National Historical Park. This year’s event, held 8/11, featured a large group of traditional Jemez Dancers, who are featured in a short video.

Nuestra Senora de Porciuncula, La Reina de los Angeles -- Jemez and my home town share the same patrona. Thank you for helping to keep New Mexico's traditions alive!

I'm Navajo and I'm also part Jemez, I'm proud that I have pueblo blood. I go to their feast day every year and I really love seeing their harvest dance.
