You have no idea how much I'm loving your videos!! Over the last 17 years I've gone from quilter & President of a local Quilt Guild to single mom working full time struggling to make ends meet. Now retired and so so eager to get my hands back into fabrics & yarn crafting!! Your videos are wonderful!!

When I was young, I used to live near the garment district. My sisters and I used to go out to the alleys and hunt around for scraps of fabric so that I could make clothes for their dolls. One summer, I made a quilt out of long strips. I wish I could go back there again to get fabric in order to do more quilts like the one you have created. I enjoyed this video immensely. Thank you!

Nice tips for the jelly roll quilt. Seeing it demonstrated and not worrying about twisted strips and color placement gives people permission to relax and enjoy the process. Loved your dog wandering in and out then waiting patiently for you in doorway. When our cats did that, we called them "speed bumps". I don't think you need anything to slow you down. Great channel.

Regular jelly roll makes a perfect throw size quilt. I made a queen size, no borders and started with 116 strips. 54 rows x 90" wide =4860 inches /42" strips = about 116 strips to start with.

I like the way you sewed all of those patches together and they look great too. I am working on a quilt from pieces of material my grandmother was working on many years ago and didn't get to finish before she got ill and passed away. I am going to make a quilt out of those pieces and if I have enough I will make two quilts and then work on one from my ideas and see how it turns out. I won't be working on this full time since I have other things to work on like my lawnmowers and utility tractors so they will be ready for Winter and next Spring.

YES! I did notice you dropped a bunch of strips but I figured you discovered them at some point before you finished! LOL. You could just add them to the bottom, cutting them off to the right size to match your width. Usually though with Jelly Roll Race Quilts, getting enough length is not the problem, but getting it wider is. Can’t add your lost strips to the side though. Well I guess you could.....would change the look but that’s ok too. It’s your quilt. Do whatever you like. You could add a that wayward strip to the side edge making it long enough to match. I have made at least 3 of these connecting the strips a little differently. So fun and what you get each time is so different than what you might expect. Lots of random color and some places where the same colors come together. Thanks for doing this even with your injured leg. You are a trooper!

You are so right about all of that. You and I think alike!! I think I’m going to insert an 8” panel and put a short 10” strip set on the side.

I watched for ages thinking..."I know you." and then I realised all those mask tutorials!! And just as this is yours was best. Yay. Thanks for the really important " Cut off the first 12ins so they are not stacked." Hugs WAH in Oz,

Very informative and well demonstrated. Sorry to see you are healing from a broken leg, tho! I have lots of "related" fabric pieces and think this would be a great idea for a future project. Thank you

Yours is the best tutorial on this that I have seen. Oops, I forgot to cut off 12” at the beginning. Oh well, many of my seams match. I’ll know better the next time. Being an old sewer, I couldn’t resist pressing after every seam.

I so very much loved this, thank you for going through the steps, you did an awesome job of showing how to do it. I've been a quilter since the 80's but haven't started one since the early 2000's, this just might be the ticket. I do however, have many many UFO's, I should bring those out and finish. You would not believe my fabric stash!

I have made this quilt before and it is much easier if you so strip to strip instead of pairs, then fours and so on.
