Jelly Roll & Ernest | This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von

Комедия

Jelly Roll is a singer, songwriter, and rapper who just won New Artist of the Year at the 2023 CMA awards. He is also nominated for “Best New Artist” at the 2023 Grammy Awards. His latest album “Whitsitt Chapel” is out now.
Ernest is a singer, songwriter and producer who has written for Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, Florida Georgia Line, and more. His latest solo album “Flower Shops” is out now.
Country stars Jelly Roll and Ernest return to the show to chat with Theo about the whirlwind weeks following Jellys’ big win at the CMA’s, what lead up to his viral speech, why country music is having a singer-songwriter revival, the unlikely origin of their biggest collab “Son of a Sinner”, the time Ernest had to call poison control, what they’re getting their ladies for Christmas, and more.

Nashville ain't at all what it used to be. It changed long ago and getting worse. I have a friend that left, he's in the hall of Fame for dobro he played on heehaw. He said the honies was the start of the downfall😂😂 anyway.. he is an older feller, he said he had to get out before they took all he had. Russel Hicks. He's from here where we live. He moved out there in the 70s and he said Nashville ain't nothing but fake people and talentless greedy folk.

My sister is a victim of the opioid crisis in America. Thankfully she is 6 years sober. I have seen how a poor family life (as our mother struggled with drug dependency more while her and her twin were young) and the “crisis” drew people to OxyContin (thanks you pieces of crap at Purdue Pharma), then straight to heroin. 3x she has gotten sober. And thank the Lord she still is. Thank u all for talking about your drug abuse, but mostly your sobriety. She LOVES Jelly Roll for his music and influence!❤
