Update: TKA Theatre Co. received a 2016 American High School Theatre Festival award for outstanding musical theater for "Jekyll & Hyde" and has been invited to produce "Les Miserables" in London's West End and Scotland during the 2017 Fringe Festival!
The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, recently presented the Broadway musical "Jekyll & Hyde" on its main stage. Starring TKA seniors Gregorio Umana, Noelle Leinwol, and Brittany Wallace, this performance showcased young talent that will be seen on the professional stage for years to come.
TKA has an award-winning fine arts program led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet and Jazz), Mrs. Jacquie Lopez (Dance- Tap, Modern and Jazz), Mrs. Alexa Tiller (Dance- Ballet, Hip Hop and Modern), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft); and fine arts conservatory led by Mr. Eric Dunn (Band Director and Department Chair), Mr. Will Smith (Assistant Band Director), Dr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mr. Cameron Smith (Digital Arts), Mr. Andy Camizzi (Art), Miss Mikah Adams (Popular Music), Mr. Gene George (Elementary Band) and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Elementary Choir). I just love this part/song. Also bravo on whoever picked out Utterson's outfit.
Luke Gerwig who plays Utterson is amazing. He really sells the role.
I like the little details during "Sympathy, Tenderness." Specifically the occasional little winces by Lucy while her wound is tended to, and the short pause she gives after singing "I am in love with-"
Frank Wildhorn is SO GOOD at writing these entwining quartets and it's amazing. I love this.
If you need a friend right now, Henry, you need to *be* a friend. I know, I know, you're kind of freaking out because of the whole alter ego thing, but still.
This whole musical is amazing...I keep watching it over and over.....

This Utterson is really amazing
Although she sounds like she's a little sick, Emma's actress' voice is probably the best in the entire cast, followed by Lucy's actress'
I saw the WOLRD premier of this musical on Houstin in 94' and have to say this student playing Lucy knocked it out of the park! Well done!

Lisa's sadness is heartbreaking.
Interesting that you have Sir Danvers and Poole portrayed by the same person. It is a lovely contrast though. I love seeing stuff like this. Is this an homage to the original stage show where people double roled?
I love how they made It unique by having a black girl playing Emma, I love her singing too. ^^

When he was singing as Hyde, there are times when he sounds so much like Warlow that it gives me chills
I love the breathy version of hers when he touches her.
Lucy’s actress is absolutely magnificent! Her voice is so gorgeous, although Lucy is supposed to be kind of funny and playful, she still does a really good job!
