Jehovah's Witness Asks for a Bible (VERY Unusual)

** PLEASE READ BEFORE WATCHING THE VIDEO **
Deandre, a very nice young man who is a former Muslim and recent convert to the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witnesses) stopped by Harrison and Locust to ask for a Bible.
This was very unusual, for multiple reasons.
First, the Watchtower Society teaches its followers that those who claim to follow Christ but are not members of the Watchtower Society are apostates and should have no dealings with them.
According to the Watchtower Society: "Apostasy is abandoning or deserting the worship and service of God, actually a rebellion against Jehovah God. Some apostates profess to know and serve God but reject teachings or requirements set out in his Word. Others claim to believe the Bible but reject Jehovah’s organization" (www.jw.org/en/library/books/R....
The Watchtower Society asks it's adherents the following rhetorical question while misusing Scripture to support their errant answer. "Would faithful Christians welcome apostates into their presence, either personally or by reading their literature" (ibid)?
Second, members of the Watchtower Society are warned against engaging in conversations with Christians and members of other religions. They are also warned against taking and reading literature from the same.
"It would be a mistake to think that you need to listen to apostates or to read their writings to refute their arguments. Their twisted, poisonous reasoning can cause spiritual harm and can contaminate your faith like rapidly spreading gangrene. (2 Timothy 2:16, 17) Rather, imitate God's response to apostates. Job said of Jehovah: "Before him no apostate will come in." - Job 13:16" (Watchtower 2004 Feb 15 p.28).
So, the above made it very unusual for Deandre to not only stop to talk and ask for a Bible, but to also listen to the proclamation of the true gospel, which is different than the gospel of the Watchtower Society (Galatians 1:6-10). In fact, in 20 years of full-time street evangelism ministry, with many interactions with Jehovah's Witnesses, I've NEVER seen this happen.
This is why you will not hear me wrangle with Deandre about the blasphemous beliefs of his false religion. This is NOT to say that biblically-driven conversations, undergirded by sound apologetics (1 Peter 3:15) are not important and useful in dismantling a Jehovah's Witness's unbiblical beliefs and explaining the truth of God's Word to them (See Dr. James White's and Apologia Church's channels for excellent resources regarding talking to and debating Jehovah's Witnesses).
But Deandre was willing to listen. So, the most important thing I could do in this very important conversation was to make sure Deandre heard the true gospel (Romans 1:16).
And by God's providential grace and mercy, Deandre did hear it, walking away having not only heard the truth that will set him free, but he also walked away with a good gospel tract and the true Word of God (not the JW's New World Translation) in his hand.
Praise God.
Pray for Deandre.

Mark 12: 30-31 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.” Mathew 22 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

If he is, and I think he is, truly searching for The Truth, please just read for yourself. One of the hardest points to make is Jesus Christ is the Way. He tells us to read before the final sacrifice was made. He and others in scripture warn us of false prophets and teachings. God does not hide the Truth. We suppress it. (Really enjoyed that point.) The Devil perverts it. (Just throw Jesus in there somewhere, they will come.) The patience of God is incredible, with all that is going on today, but He wants more to be blessed and invited into His Kingdom. 144k? Those are the..... Read. Not a limit to who is allowed.

@@kevinwarren1576 So if they reject the body and blood of Christ which is done as the New Covenant, which covenant are they under? Watchtower's covenant? As far as black mass, there are few that partake, probably the smarter ones that know the scriptures to at least in that part or they really believe they are the chosen 144,000 who are gonna rule in heaven with Christ and not live in a paradise "earth." However scriptures say in Revelation 5:7 And has made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. NWT version Revelation 5:7 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.” So which one is true and which is false, UPON or ON the earth ruling, or OVER the earth in Heaven? Who is telling the truth? The other Bibles or Watchtowers NWT Well Watchtowers very own publication the Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures reads in Revelation 5:7: and you have made them to the God of us kingdom and priests, and they are reigning upon the earth. Clearly it is UPON or ON the earth!!

Notice how everything changed for him the moment his phone rang and he said it was his girlfriend. It was a clear disconnect. But here's the key: when we learn to prioritize God above all else, just like he did with that phone call, that's when we truly draw close to Him and develop a personal relationship with the Lord. We need to hold God in high regard, just as he did with that phone call. The moment he checked his phone, there was an immediate disconnect. People always find time for the things they love. When they meet someone special, they can't wait to spend time with them, cherishing every moment together. They don't even want to check the time because they're so deeply in love. We should do the same with God! Let's eagerly rush to church as we would rush to a date. Let's pray and spend every moment with the Lord, putting Him first. This is why the most important commandment is to love the Lord with all our heart!
