Great videos, Ill subscribe!!!. 2 things, It amazes me how American Lafrance went belly up again, and they have so many units on the road still. They build an au lot of firetrucks when they started up again. Its odd to see so many, and close the doors. Also, you say Tri State area, meaning NY, NJ, and CT??? Thanks

Another thing I noticed, how many different colors does Newerk Fire Department use? I saw yellow, white, and red!!!

Yeah, I lnow. from what ive heard over the years is they wanted to se what colors worked best for them, they tried yellow, white, red, red/white, red/black and so on. And they figured once they figured out what they wanted, they would just repaint th other units. The thing is, they've had budget issues, and couldnt replace units quickly enough, and didnt want to waste money repainting units that should have been replaced by now. Some of there units are 20 plus years old and should have been long gone. Times are still tough in cetain cities. Im lucky, where im at, we get replacements every 7-10 years. That seems unheard of in most cities today. But, the prices have gone through the roof. I was on 2 new truck comments back in the 90's, one was a new Quint Platform, at the time we could get one for at the highest $475,000. That was loaded. The same truck today, is at least $1,000,000 plus. Same withthe Engine, $275,000 then, Same unit now, $675,000. Heavy rescue was $175,000 18' walk in heavy rescue with custom cab, now the same unit was just replaced for $850,000. Totally amazing how much things have gone up.

+Christopher Foley fire trucks get replaced because of iso rating Usually fire trucks stay in service 20 years for a pumper 25 years for a Ladder truck

at one time my dept. had red, white, yellow, green, and a slime lime. it was wayne township outside of indianapolis indiana and we had 5 stations, 10 engines, and 4 trucks

I see a lot of firetrucks using blue lights now

Fire trucks are loud and the fire department saves your life

Just before 2:25...that driver just about smacked into the front of that fire truck
