I CAN'T!
The first story he tells about getting Basquiat is brilliant. He knew the role he was right for and instead trying to nail another role he was auditioning for, he just auditioned for the role he wanted. That is a big risk most actors wouldn’t take.
He’s so criminally underrated! Actors like this don’t get enough credit for their craft and performances over the years
I remember when Jeffrey Wright first emerged on the scene, he mentioned in an interview that he would "like to have the career of Brando." Well, he certainly hasn't had Marlon's career, but he is arguably a better actor (all hype aside). One of the best we have...
@TheMrdkb

Not arguably better. He’s better hands down
He's always been brilliant. He should be as revered as actors like Gary Oldman.
@kaguth

In Basquiat he was among a murderers row of actors: Oldman, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Bowie, Dafoe, Benicio and he fit right in among them and even outshined them in some scenes.

I loved him in Basquiat. It was the first time I’d seen him in a movie. That movie’s FILLED with stars - Bowie, Oldman, Del Toro, Hopper, Walken, Dafoe.

I just love the way he describes his characters. It feels like he really enjoys talking about them, being part of the movies, and he shows a deep understanding of each one of them. His facial expressions give me the idea that he loves his characters and they are all a part of him in some way. HE REALLY IS AN UNDERRATED ACTOR!

He’s one of those amazing performers that early in his career, unless you were aware of him, and paying attention, you might not notice it’s same actor in two different roles. Perfect example is Peoples and King Jr. I saw both those movies when they came out, but had no idea Jeffry played them both. It’s been such a treat to follow his career.
Loved him in Hunger Games. Wish he had the chance to talk about it.

One of the best actors alive as far as I'm concerned
Jefferey Wright has had so many great roles. Some of these films I need to revisit.
I could listen to Jeffrey Wright talk about anything, especially his dope turtles.
Such a great actor. Ironically, his portrayal of Martin Luther King Jr. is perhaps my favorite portrayal of all the MLK-films out there. What I also loved about *_Boycott_* is that it didn't preach at the audience. It told a very good and compelling story. And then the way it ends with him transitioning into the 21st Century was perfection. The movie and his performance completely floored me.
Jeffrey Wright is Iconic!

When I saw Shaft around the time it came out, I remember being mostly focused on Wright's performance, which is kinda crazy since the rest of the cast did amazingly. Even Busta. It just goes to show how great of an actor Wright is since, especially after watching him in Manchurian Candidate. I wondered where his accent was. LOL. Then Westworld came along, "Oh. So this is Wright's normal voice but more monotone for the role of Arnold."
I want to see Jeffery Wright and Laurence Fishburne in a movie together.

I would love it
I think this guy will be a great Jim Gordon.
I had the chance to meet him at an event in 2017, and I didn't want to bother him too much, so I just did a one minute speech about how much I appreciate his performances due to the diversity of his characters, and how he is a true CHARACTER actor. I respect his efforts to show his range, and not stick to any specific "type" over the years. He seemed to appreciate my comments. I am glad he got a spot in this series.
I love everything that Jeffrey Wright has made. I respect his realm of versatility. If there is anyone who deserves to be recognized for the talent, the passion, and flavor that brings to each character that he plays. It should definitely be this man.
HBO loves this legend sheeeesh
He just is so genuine and intelligent and composed. Thank you for doing this for everyone. It was fascinating to hear this broken down. Would have loved to hear about Hunger Games too but c’est la vie.
The thing about Jeffrey is that he obliterates with subtlety. He has the same range as Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce but he doesn't go for the sheer size of a performance. He puts all his energy in nuance and detail, which makes each performance of his a handcrafted Swiss-watch accomplishment. His talent is utterly terrifying.
"I need your help brotha....you're the only one I trust!!" Can't wait to see him return in no time to die I just hope they don't kill him off 😔

He has turtles trapped in a four foot box of water for their 20+ year lifespan. It's cruel.
Although his roll in Manchurian Candidate in 2004 with Denzel Washington was small, he made a big impact with their scene together
Jeffrey Wright is every thorough actor's favorite actor. He's highly regarded within the inner circle. Not so much in the outer. Its the price you pay when you're about the business(craft) and not the show(fame). Blessing to have worked with him as an actor.
Ride With The Devil is a MUST WATCH whether you’re a history buff or not. Wright was phenomenal in it!
i love his voicee as the watcher
First saw Mr. Wright in Shaft. The movie was dogshit - but Wright’s portrayal of the character Peoples was severe, raw, dangerous and winning. He stole every scene. Wright’s credit list is prolific - as it should be considering his talent. But somehow he remains underrated. Saw him again in Boardwalk and was left happy but unsatisfied. To universe: Give us more Jeffrey Wright! 💯🔥

The turtle swimming around behind JW in the aquarium...cute!!!
He is an insanely talented actor. Amazing in everything he does. He was even great in the Hunger Games (a little disappointed he didn't talk about that). But he is phenomenal in Westworld!! He is such a great actor! He steals every scene he is in (unless it is with Anthony Hopkins, but he can hold his own with him too). He's one of the best!

A phenomenal actor with countless iconic performances.
This man slowburned into my list of favorite actors. Saw him in a couple of films (like James Bond) where he did not really stand out to me at first. Loved him in Westworld of course and ever since that, I started noticing how good he is in so many different kind of roles. Even just his evolution in Westworld is so good, it's alsmost like he is two different actors playing the shy nerdy Bernard in the first season to a badass version in the third season where he tweaked minor things to make it the same character, but completely different. Really a great actor. He needs some more leading roles!
watcher watching his own alternate timeline in which he is an actor
Great actors so underrated have to love Jeffrey Wright❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Man, I love his voice! I could listen to it all day!
Jeffrey Wright is the best actor and his voice for the Watcher in Marvel's What if...? series he amazing
Ride with the Devil is still one of my favorite all time films.

Too many of y'all aren't familiar with Jeffrey Wright and it sucks. Hes fantastic.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! Jeffery Wright has such a calming voice and personality. Love him in Westworld and Hunger Games.
THE GOAT! Jeffrey Wright is unstoppable and so very versatile.
He was great in Lackawanna Blues also.
Excited to see him play Jim Gordon in The Batman
I like his portrayal of MUDDY WATERS IN CADILLAC RECORDS..and His character in SHAFT.
I’d honestly be super curious to hear his thoughts on his role in TLOU2, even though it was short-lived (and came out after this vid). I’m sure filming that mo-cap was a unique experience
Have been watching clips of Chadwick Boseman since his passing 8/28/20. Chadwick said his ultimate favorite actor is this man: Jeffery Wright. Chadwick said Jeffrey is a chameleon. Yes he is. Hollywood don’t wait until Mr Wright is gone to give him his propers.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!
Man you are underrated and worth so much more than what Hollywood gives you credit for.
His one scene in Quantum of Solace at the bar is just the best.

Came here for Angels in America. I did not leave disappointed. Brilliant performances all around. It is still my favorite movie.
I haven't seen Boycott since I was a child and I'm just now realizing Carmen Ejogo has played Coretta Scott King twice. Wow!
This actor can portray anyone and every character you can imagine!
I was actually introduced to him through boardwalk empire
One of my favorite actors of all time. I look up to him immensely. A true thespian.
I enjoyed this interview. The best and a completely underrated actor.
Honestly it's better like this, the actors are able to say and express most of their feelings and thoughts on the subject because they don't have bright lights and a whole crew watching them. I know that their actors and used to this but for every human, being in the comfort zone is always better
Jeffrey, you're such a great actor. Your range is so great. Very proud of you, brotha.
I love that you can hear his kids in the background. Perfect.
Loved him in boardwalk empire man he killed that role
He transforms characters into life Tragedies.
The man. Thanks for the post.
LOVE Jeffrey! First time I noticed him was in Quantum of Solace, and even though it’s not a massive part, I instantly knew I loved him. Such an underrated actor, even brilliant in Hunger Games. I’m about to start West World, I’m bloody excited.
Wonderful! Thank you, Jeffrey Wright.
He’s amazing in everything but my favorite was “Angels in America” 👼🏻 🇺🇸
Love him so much. A master. Basquiat was my first film I saw him in. Such a brilliant performance. The Felix in Bond, and then Westworld. A sensational actor.
It's been said a million times, but I'll still say it one more time: so underrated!
A fine actor....I really wanted OG to have a sequel or mini series
Now this man can really act I know that every movie this man is in you tend to be more interested in his character no matter how big or small the role he brings his character alive
Good stuff. Thank you Jeffrey.
A modern legend of a character actor. Loved him in Broken Flowers with Bill Murray.
