Jeff Waters of Annihilator | 2015 tour rig rundown with Hughes & Kettner

Музыка

Watch as Jeff Waters of thrash godfathers Annihilator takes us through his simple yet devastatingly effective live rig!
We caught up with Jeff before the band's show at Luxembourg's den Atelier venue in November 2015 and he showed us his HUghes & Kettner GrandMeister 36 setup, his ergonomic pedalboard and the other little bits and pieces he needs to get an Annihilator crowd whipped up into a frenzy!
We also did a full sit-down interview with Jeff later on that day, where he told us all about his favorite guitar amp recording techniques, plans for the next Annihilator album, and a whole lot more! Watch that interview here: • Jeff Waters of Annihil...

I'm still convinced, that if they were American, they would be bigger and more popular than Metallica/Megadeth. Annihilator has much more melody, diversity and still is a consistent sounding band when comparing. Thanks for the great rig-rundown and the great music!

+Christian Georgiev Agreed 100%! It's a crime that they've never done well in the States... Until now anyway, hopefully that'll change soon!

+Christian Georgiev Wrong. The average American listener NEVER DID care much for 'faster' music and that's what Annihilator has always been, for the most part. It's mostly about speed and thrash. Proof is, most Americans considered Punk (closer to Annihilator's style) to be at the bottom of the 'metal' rung, especially in the 80's when 'posers' dominated the scene. Jeff and his band is right where they should be.

***** Interesting stuff, and awesome knowledge! We'll have to check out Voivod and Exhorder for sure. It's funny, with the internet being so global today you just assume that every band can get a name for themselves wherever they are. But it wasn't always like that - and North America is a big place! Still, like you say, respect is due to all these guys for what they do...

If you are playing clubs, this is ALL you really need. My TM18 does more than enough with my 1X12 LORANTZ or 1X15 SAMMI!

The most temperature i get on the top is around 53°C. But i don't play in hot places. For that small case and whats inside, thats an amazingly low temperature. And 2 minutes after, its lukewarm. I saw gigantic heads that had all the space they needed and you could burn yourself on the back half an hour after the gig. I guess not everybody who builds amps looks into heat transfer. The hughes&kettner guys shure do.

Boss pedal is always recognisable, no matter how much insulating tape you would put on it)

+Anti Phase Ha, yeah ;) There's no shame in having Boss pedals, though ;) Jeff had them stuck down to keep them in place and stop the knobs getting moved out of place too.
