I remember in 1989 at school we were all about slayer, Megadeth, anthrax etc and then my mate bought Alice in hell... We were blown away by the intricacies of the playing, and Randy Rampage, what a great vocalist too RIP 🤘 I met Jeff hanging out in the crowd when I saw testament in Bristol (UK) as they were supporting and he was a really nice humble guy, chatted briefly and got a picture

I adore Annihilator and Jeff is such a creative player and his tones were always excellent. Really happy you added the delay to it when playing those "Alice In Hell" riffs so it sounds more authentic. Awesome video as always!

The chugging rhythm guitar part on Alison is absurdly good. It's a gold standard thrash tone

Very cool sir, I resently ditched my dsL20 and went back solid state and I'm much happier.....🤟🤟🤟🤟 i notice with HO pups my sd-1 and ds-1 I'm using mostly as clean boosts. I had the sc20h and yes it was loud and bright !!

Haven't heard this song in forever. Loved this album. Sounds great. Still using a DSL20hr and also got an ENGL Fireball 25. Definitely want to get one of these 20w JCM800's one day!

@@LambChopper678 it’s a really good amp but personally I struggle with its voicing. It’s a little thick and dark for my liking. It’s a different thing then the Marshall zing/kerrang as they call it. I’ve come to terms that it’s an incredible amp, but maybe just not a great for for me personally. It excels at heavy stuff but I tend to stay in lower gain up to 80s punk to classic metal territory. I actually just decided again to sell the Fireball.

I’m not sure he ever did, could be mistaken but I thought he used Gallien Krueger for the first few and moved onto the 8100 after leprosy.

Hey lamb if you could only have one amp for thrash and similar genres what would it be? I have a 6505 I use in a band at the moment but want something different. Love the feel of Marshall’s and love the sound of Mesa just can’t decide! I’m looking at getting a Mesa MKV since I’ve been saving but lot of cash for a college student.

Pickups are literally 99% of tone at guitar's side. If you want good overall pickup for metal/rock then Seymour Duncan SH-4 is a good choice.

Hey Lambchopper678 there’s a guy in the US that makes a mod for the 20 watt 800’s that will add an extra preamp tube, and extra gain (think Mike Soldano 80’s Marshall mods). If you’re looking to get more out of your Marshall without breaking the bank! It’s called the Hotmod v2, and from what I understand other then pulling a preamp tube and replacing it with Hotmod 2 is simple. Check em out and I hope you have an awesome day!!!

I think if I was to the mod route I’d get another so I’ve got one to compare it with. It’s a cool amp but I too like the subtle gain that it has. Such a great foundation.

@@LambChopper678 It doesn't mod the amp, it slots into V2 and is removable so the amp stays 100% stock. I use one with my 2203 and it adds gain and makes the amp sound a bit fuller. Highly recommended.

Actually, the 2203 EQ is pretty much flat, with a low cut below 100hz with the EQ set to Bass 0, Mid 10, and treble 0.

Those small watt JCM800’s definitely don’t sound like the 100watters. A lot less head room.
