Hello all! Does anyone know how the name of the second tune played here came to be? “Perme’s Polka?” That is my last name, hence the question! My father, John “Jack” Perme played in the Fairport Ensemble back in the 80’s with Ray Krajc, amongst others. They cut three albums (all on Apple Music, courtesy of Krajc) toured Europe, went on cruises…all as The Fairport Ensemble. Man, those guys would tear up those Slovenian dance halls!! They really were good!

There used to be a furniture store in Cleveland called Perme Furniture. I think that was the name. This song was either written for the commercial for Perme Furniture or it was used for the commercial. Apparently, Perme Polka is a very well known polka song… in Cleveland. The owner of Perme Polka was my grandfathers brother. Perme is my maiden name. All Cleveland polka bands know the Perme Polka song. Whenever I see a polka band I always have them play this.

Very snappy band. Note the second accordion is the button style. Not used that much any more, but still the great sound. Jeff has awesome style. Also, the announcer, Joey Miskulin is an awesome accordion player. Believe he played with Frankie Yankovic for years. Polkas are the best music. We feel better when the sounds reach our souls. mos60
