Wow, ya hired him after he walked out on the Falcons in the middle of the night after a loss with 3 games to go and a Dear John letter in the players lockers..Singing Pig Sooie later that night. Who wouldve thought he'd do something like this?! 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️

Mr Long did the right thing, and I felt bad that he was put into such a difficult and painful decision by what he had considered a dear friend.

He did not do the right thing, and I don't feel sorry for him at all. He set the Razorback Football program back years. In fact, we just now, in the last couple of years got out of the hole. There are many ways this could have been delt with. Firing the coach was not one of them.

Much like the BYU incident last year, it is refreshing to see a major college program place its moral integrity and character above reproach. Too many programs compromise their standards in efforts to achieve on-field success. My respect for Arkansas has grown as a result.

As a UNC fan, I can empathise. Arkansas has struggled mightily this season, but, they have my respect. Its a tought thing to happen. I give Jeff Long kudos. Firing a popular, successful HC is never easy. But, its the best thing for the university as a whole. They will find an excellent new HC and begin building again in 2013. WPS!

He's been lied to by a friend, which looks like it hurts so much. After watching a season of college football here in Scotland, on bt sport. College football seems to be a nest of vipers and serpents. Loads of sponsorship to try and help cover it up, so thank you to the Internet so these people are held to an exceptional level compared to most people.

We would have won a natty by now if he had stayed. I love Sam Pittman though. We are in good shape finally.

That will never happen. I was born in the state but now reside on the west coast. I guarantee there is no other football team that gets poked fun of more than the hogs. This goes beyond firing a coach. This levels up as hiring an employee to a position that she had no experience in, all because she was a pretty girl with blonde hair, blue eyes, and white, and Petrino hired her BASED ON THOSE QUALITIES so he could get in her pants. The whole Athletic department was ok with it. Jessica took another WELL-QUALIFIED woman's job, and the school was hunky-dory with it because it doesn't give 2 flies about anything else besides making sure we win Saturday's game. The football program has placed a curse upon itself; it will never heal, and if anything, the hogs have won in the last 10 years: it's the Dallas Cowboys of NCCA.

They absolutely were competing to be a top program in the late 2000’s. Darren McFadden coming off 2 Heisman contending seasons and a BCS bowl berth with Petrino as HC.

Bobby Petrino has been a shady character and that's been well documented for years. It's was only a matter of time before it caught up to him. I'm still shocked how Louisville gave him another chance after he bailed out from there in '06 for Atlanta. In closing it'll happen again soon enough as Coach Petrino gets the chance to seek refuge. Just hope the U of L doesn't get burned a second time by him.

Honestly, everyone in Arkansas will say they care about class act, but then they will complain about the football program. Pick one... You can't have both. I'd say bring Petrino back, who cares about who his sugar babies are. But, he shouldn't have used school funding to pay his sugar baby though... That was a dumb thing on his part.
