Jeff transcends Rock and Roll, and music in general. And while he definitely belongs in the hall of fame, I think hes so far beyond everyone else thats in it that it doesn't really matter if he is ever inducted or not. He was one of a kind and no one will ever attain the level of artistry and mastery of music that he reached with only one album even. Anyone who hears his music, and I mean really and truly HEARS it, is blessed beyond words.

The album Grace is other-worldly; indeed, there is something really magical about it that makes it almost metaphysical. No matter how many times I listen to the entire album, I keep on discovering new things; hidden sounds. It is almost as if Jeff wanted us to sip it slowly through our life journey. A pure gem!

His music was really the thing that was making me so emotional and sad because it was just a pure soul, singing, playing and instrument, making poetry and I wish there was so so much more of it. I know people are not their bodies only..so death sometimes doesn’t really make me all that sad, but seeing all these clips of him just being a person and joking and drinking and hanging out and making phone calls and having all these people who were close with him, remember him, the whole last maybe 8 minutes of them reflecting on what he meant to him really really got me in tears. I wish they hadn’t lost their friend who clearly meant so so much to them. I wish we hadn’t lost a literal music god, he was amazing

Tammy, Jeff wasn’t/isn’t God. Perhaps God worked through Jeff’s music to give you hope, but Jeff was merely a man. What you’re describing is more akin to idol worship than the philosophical definition of God: an immaterial being/mind; the unmoved mover. In the Christian worldview: the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.

Amazing documentary on Jeff Buckley. Bought his record "Grace" back then and I was smitten with the record and fascinated by the sheer talent he possessed. His loss, in my mind, is one of the world's greatest musical tragedies. First it was John Lennon in 1980 and then we lose Jeff Buckley. This one hurts just as much. When I think of Jeff and John, I wonder what great songs we will never hear, but with Jeff specifically, we will never hear THAT voice again.

Most people aren’t even aware that Jeff Buckley ever existed. They may know his cover of Hallelujah, if anything at all. Additionally, his music is very unconventional and not something most casual music listeners could ever get into because it doesn’t follow standard pop or rock rhythmic structures. Lastly, a lot of his music is incredibly sad and many people don’t like listening to music that causes them to reflect on really painful experiences in their lives. We live in a culture that has largely forgotten what it means to be introspective because we are constantly distracted with cell phones, gadgets and social media. Jeff’s music isn’t background filler or something one can really dance or nod along to; for the most part. It is music that demands a quiet space and one’s undivided attention. It is a contemplative record that takes one on a journey throughout the full spectrum of human emotion and experience. It is definitely an acquired taste that insists upon multiple listening before it starts to make sense. If one were to give the album a cursory listening, they would most likely not get it and never come back to it.

Kamogelo Maila, It is not wise to turn people into idols. Jeff was a mere man. Jesus knows you better than anyone and loves you - to take a line from Last Goodbye - “more than you’ll ever know.” *“When you exalt the beauty of Christ, I tell you what: no one ever lived like him. No one ever spoke like him. No one was ever so compassionate to sinners as he was. No one ever welcomed the outcasts as he did. He set the law on a higher plain, but his mercy was also in proportionate keeping with it. He knows how to humble us without humiliating us and how to lift us up without flattering us. He gives you the true, essential nature of your worth.” - Ravi Zacharias*

It is very rare that a musician is allowed to be that experimental in the big studio on record company time, it certainly was in his favour that Tim Buckley was his father. I think his talent was way beyond that of his father's.

Music is one of those abstract beautiful things that seems to exist in some metaphysical realm, that we can nearly all appreciate. Musicians get to tap into it to various degrees now and again, but Buckley's whole being seemed to be engaged wholly within this realm. Even when he spoke, you could see he was there.

Don't know if you read these MrMojo... but I've never even seen this stuff about Jeff... he acted kind of introverted, but this is not surprising to me. It's just one of those things that happen.. Glad to have known him even briefly. My entire adult life is dotted with really talented and more "famous" artists I don't even care to remember and have real life stories beginning ... uhhh... The year after Woodstock? '70. Jeff played harp too. You'll hear it when I put it up. Created a rhythm track with no percussion instruments. As far as music people go? If they are nice I like em. If I don't like em I don't care what their name is or who they are. My crazy life...

@DGinLA Original Music With respect, you have made a lot of claims about Jeff, allegedly, being a session player for you. Do you have any way of proving this? I don't mean to be cynical, but I have encountered several frauds through this channel, whose stories, when examined thoroughly, didn't add up, thus, I am always wary of anyone who claims to have known, and worked with, Jeff.

There's no need for such a film to be made. Most people have no idea that Jeff Buckley even existed, and James Franco is a dozen years older than Jeff was when he died. He's way too old to play that part, now.

@@MojoPin1983 The reason that most people did not know Jeff Buckley existed is exactly why a movie should be made - So people can be introduced(if not already) to a TRUE master artist/musician! My girlfriend at the time was a HUGE Buckley fan and got me to become a fan as well. My teenage kids are now into his music and vibe. No auto-tune, computers, AI etc., This is REAL music at it's best! Yeah, I know that Franco is a little older now, but he was the closest in resemblance that I could think of.
