I was one of the engineers that worked at APC Studios when we did this show. I was fortunate to spend a few minutes with Jeff before the show. He was very nice and kind. What really impressed me was that he remembered everyone's name and seemed genuinely grateful for everything we did for him; his band, not so much, it was easy to forget they were even there and pretty much kept to themselves.. We did a number of other shows with other artists and he was by far the most humble and kind of all of them. The show was small and in the back of the warehouse where the studio was housed. Not really air conditioned, not very aesthetically please, but a fun place for intimate shows. He is missed.

@jamemajor530.

I believe this was the private show that a few lucky listeners called in to attend and I was one of them. They called the studio the Purple Dragon Studios at the time. I fell head over heels in love with his beautiful soul. I have the cd they gave everyone in the audience to commemorate the occasion. He signed mine "to Sandy, beautiful to be in your hands" and then handed it back. He was most kind and gracious. The small concert was a magical time for me. I went on to see him live two more times. Truly a lovely genius with an enamoring aura. I believe he now sings with angels.

Saw Jeff on a whim strolling through Austin, bunch of hot chicks at this record store. My buddy sez "What's happening over there"? I shrugged we went over there and Jeff was very different, we didn't know who he was, his talent and musicality was undeniable we looked at one another like wtf who's this dude. He blew us away! The way he sang the songs he sang he had a hot little band we were really impressed ya know? I believe it was 94' , anyway afterwards I talked to him briefly and said probably the usual spiel from fans, actually I was kinda starstruck ya know. I think I called him Mr Buckley he hugged me and said Jeff. I smiled and said Jeff can I help you load your equipment he smiled back & said that's ok he's got roadies. Then that was it chicks surrounded him. Hearing & talking to Jeff one of the happiest days of my life. He was a magical man.

He was ages ahead, I was a metal head, not very open-minded about other generes. Then in the late 90's I discovered him, and I listened his music for three years straigh, every day, even when I was having sex always listening...why? I don't really know still to this days. There's something different in his music and voice, something unique, a thin veil of shadowness and mistery that tries to fill the void of life with a touch of unconfortable awerness.

Actually Jeff was the kind of musician and artist that everyone was wanting to be, we liked some grunge and classic rock and alt rock but we all wanted to be original and gifted, so after seeing him I new none of my musician friends as great as they were and the Texas music scene was would be able to make music like him, when he died music in some was died cause no one could do to music what he was able to do no one had that versatility or ability to save us from corporate America's machine of mediocrity. Life can be so cruel sometimes.

Obviously, everyone knows that he was an absolutely astounding singer, with one of the most incredible voices ever. But you can’t *truly* appreciate just how great he was-unless you’re a singer. The things that he does, are literally impossible for me to do. I cannot come anywhere near close to doing so many things he does effortlessly. He does so many things that you’re not aware of, until you try to repeat them. His breath support was absolutely incredible. Try to hold a note as long as he does without taking a breath. His ability to switch in and out of different vocal textures, his range, his control .... there are just so many things he could do that almost nobody else could do.

This rendition's made me so emotional for so many reasons, one of them the fact that I'll never get to see him perform live...I can't believe I'm crying over a guy I've never met and that passed away almost 20 years ago. Wow....I have been a major fan of JB's music for more than two decades, but for reasons unknown, I have never come upon this particular live set. IMHO, this performance was absolutely spectacular, and it really highlighted his otherworldly voice & how he used it as a true musical instrument, not just as a way of broadcasting melody & words. I found JB's performance here to have been particularly revealing in terms of JB's 'jazz singer's soul', both in how he purposefully ennunciated each word & how he carefully phrased his lyrics. Yet, he didn't over-think his brilliant technique either, which resulted in boundless passion & a wide spectrum of raw, naked emotions. In this live set, I was particularly struck by his creative vocalization of guitar-like sound with 'feedback' at the end of "So Real"...it could have easily come across as corny or as uninteded self-mockery, but he pulled it off in an authetic & natural way (and a bit of humour afterwards). My only regret is that I had to (and will always need to) write about Jeff Buckley's talents in the past-tense.....nevertheless, I will always be extremely grateful that the world was blessed by his presence in the arts community for two decades, and - thanks to recordings like this one - that he continues to impact, inspire, and teach new generations of listeners, songwriters & musicians!

Other worldly... such a loss it breaks my heart though. I have a beautiful daughter who I will hope to be inspired by Jeff as much as I am 💕 I play his music almost every day for her. Hopefully it perhaps inspires her to be whatever she wants to be in life... wether a beautiful poet, singer, or artist as he was.
