Like most rich people, they had a reasonably good idea, and ran with it despite any risks. The big key word here is risk. Most people are afraid of risks, me being one of them. In my case I was too responsible with my obligations to try risk what I had. You don't have to be a genius. You'll strengthen your know-how as you move along, solidified with being honest, resilient and responsible enough with yourself and others. The trick is to recognize when your failures are not due to the idea, but perhaps due to execution and act accordingly. In general people got this obsession with people that make it rich as if they are geniuses, similar to celebrities, which tells me that in general, most people have a low self-esteem problem, which perhaps relates to their risk aversion problem.

It takes a HUGE ego to be that rich. A real life Lex Luther or Dr. Evil (from the Austin Powers movie). This centibillionaire is NOT known as a generous philanthropist. He is known to have created a terrible work environment for many Amazon employees - and many of them are independent contractors, NOT employees. Zero benefits. Remember, he has also fought them to NOT be unionized. Sorry, Mr. profits over people, I don’t find you “motivational” at all.

Yeah when everyone would be adventurer then who would drive amazon packages around and sort them in storagehouses... Anyways, opportunity is the key here. You need to work hard but without some luck and proper timing you wont become gates or bezos. Its all bs that motivation speech. At the end there are several giant companies which keep it in strong grasp. Unless there will be some new quantum technology coming its all just about trying to get cake scraps that still left at the table.

To bad he doesn't really own Amazon , and never has, he's a complete fraud, he should tell the truth about what his life has really been.
