Just a tip fro everyone looking at this, a likes a hardtop. You can get your hard top on an off without having to be super extra an take off the bars. Plenty of room to slide it back and pull it off. Currently running this on my 98 Sahara I can get my hard top on an off just fine.

Really bad roof rack, I've only had it on for a year and it rusted out at the bottom, mind you I live in central valley California. No salted roads, no snow, just occasional rain in july and that was enough to rust it. The coating which everyone knows is horrible chips off when you unbolt and re-bolt it up. The protection pads ware thin to the point where you have metal on metal contact because they are thin foam rather than rubber. Awful product, look elsewhere for a better roof rack. Side note; the installation is absolutely frustrating, I've installed Rough Country long arm lifts that were easier installs than this product.

The hero we needed, but didn’t deserve

Could you tell me which direction the rear uprights are supposed to point when they get above he jeep, in terms of towards jeep or away from jeep? If you install them one way the bars point outwards, away from the jeep. If you install them in reverse, the bars go inwards towards the jeep. I'm sure it makes a difference, but the directions don't specify which one goes on which side.

Can you recommend a beefed up roof rack for a 2003 Wrangler w/soft top. Something in 500-600 lbs range. Something that 2 people stand on. Not going to be used for off road.

How does it fit with a body lift

I installed a Smittybilt roof rack exactly like the Barricade. It took about 4 to 5 hours because the instructions were very poor. I do like the look and it works well for me. Hopefully Barricade has improved the instructions.

barracade instructions are very poor. The video is worse. Forgets to tell you that you have to auger the holes out when using the stock bumper

Uhm I cannot install on the passenger side, it does not give enough clearance for the stock radio antenna. Any suggestions?

Can you still take the top off if you have a soft top with this mod?

Yeah, Smittybilt instructions were junk. Even worse, wrong. Proper size allen wrench / Hex wrench was NOT included!. Some nasty bolts. Took me 10 hrs (some of my bolts had to be drilled out.)

I just got done with this intall and it took close to 5 hours-not only do the directions suck-but no one tells you the rear lowers need modified if you are using a stock rear bumper-what a nightmare install-i hope it performs

are you talking about the back holes for the bumper?-i had to use a rat tail hand file

Same issue 04 TJ. Had to file/dremel the holes larger - even then had to remove hitch to even begin to tighten bolts. So far up to 5 hours and counting. What a huge PIA this is so far.....hope it holds up!

I can't use this rack because I have a snorkel...The front bars look like they would be in the way of my snorkel?

An aftermarket snorkel definitely could cause clearance issues with this Barricade Roof Rack System. We wouldn't be able to guarantee fitment for them working together. -Zach

On a Jeep Wrangler TJ, I'm pretty sure a Smittybilt Overlander tent (47"x55"closed) would fit on this. But would a Smittybilt Overlander XL Tent (47"x76"closed) fit on top? Thanks for any information you can lend.

Even if it fits, you'll already be getting close to the weight rating, I wouldn't do a rooftop tent on this personally

Y’all a bunch of pansies, it’s a good rack, y’all saying instructions were bad, it’s a rack use some common sense to put it together, it’s a decent rack
