Jeep Wrangler 6.4 Hemi Swap - 8 Speed Wiring And TEST FIRE!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Full Parts List: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
I'm back in the garage working on the 6.4 V8 Hemi swap for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK! I am using a bunch of DIY swap parts from ‪@jeepspeedshop‬ , which is also allowing me to run the 8 speed 8HP70 automatic transmission.
Doing a V8 swap in your jeep wrangler is something that a lot of people dream of, and luckily you can do it at home to save yourself some money. Hopefully these videos will help you out if you decide to tackle this project.
Jeep Speed shop is also offering 10% off to my subscribers if you call to place your order and mention this channel and the videos.
In this video, we tackle alot of stuff! First lets take a look at how to mount the factory Jeep transfercase, youll need to drill out a few holes in the transmission and insert a spacer to help take up some of the play in the larger holes.
Then we have to get our new Jeep speed shop 8 speed shifter floor plate in place, as well as mount the shifter and start up the wiring.
Canbus wiring: This could possibly change depending on year models.
White with black: white with red on 8 speed wiring
White with blue: white with black on 8 speed wiring
Brake input: Pin 6 wire on brake pedal switch
Yellow switched power (Key on and cranking power).
I decided to make my own battery tray, However Jeep speed shop sells a steel bolt in tray, as well as a dual battery tray option if you want dual batterys with your hemi setup.
I used the Barnes4wd battery tray: www.barnes4wd.com/Battery-Box...
Dont forget the discount code jkgear will get you 10% off barnes4wd products!
I know this video has quite a few boring parts in it, however i think alot of this will be very helpful to people over the years.
Pretty much all of these steps will be the same for those who want to do a more budget friendly V8 swap and use the 5.7 Hemi instead of the 6.4 hemi. Either way, both engines will make the Jeep wrangler very fun to drive and will have alot more power than the factory 3.8 or 3.6.
The first startup/testfire was successful and man she is loud!! A good exhaust will quiet it down some and make it sound really mean.
Thanks for watching!

When Ben says “it’s not really that bad” you can be assured - it is that bad. Just cut this, weld that, install studs here, drill there, buy these bushings, put everything together and tear it about 3 or 4 times... dude is a beast. Edit: just heard you fire this thing up - WOW 😳

Many times when someone thinks their Optima failed, it actually discharged more than a standard battery charger can recover. Get an Optima charger and most of those can be charged and the battery is fine. Pure lead AGMs are a different animal than a standard battery.
