i would love to see a video about your flat belly skid plate that you make.. i would like to know what is required to install the flat belly skid plate, like the size of body lift, motor mount lift, and anything that might be required to go totally flat.

Is this plate short enough in width, front to back, to allow draining the transfer case without oil going all over the stock plate? 2000 TJ owner wants to know. Photos of the finished install from all angles would have bee a great help.

I remember earlier instructions that said you have to take off the fan shroud and recommended that you add engine n=mount spacers. Has something changed?

Not that I am aware of but always refer to the installation instructions that are on line for the most up-to-date information.

Looks great! Do you make one that drops the transfer case. For a 4" suspension lift?

We don't. You would have to add a spacers.

You do not have to install a body lift for this skid!

You do not need a motor mount lift to run this skid.

Should I use this skid plate or the Barnes4x4 tj flat skid ? I obviously want to gain as much clearance as reasonably possible and I plan to install a Barnes4x4 gas tank skid, that requires a 1” body lift. I also plan to do a 1” motor mount lift. Is that close to using the flat skid ? Or still not close, and stick with this?

Barnes 4wd thank you for the fast response! It’s nice to know your opinion. That was the conclusion I came too also. Is there anything that you would suggest that I add or do different while I am doing the gas tank skid, body lift, and skid plate ?

@@barnes4wd i have just received my nice new skid plate :) but, now after I am going back through your website, i see that the jeep TJ 2" drop skid plate is suggested if you have a 1" body lift (and i do). I thought the 2" drop skid was an extra 2" more drop than the factory skid. but after a second look, it appears to maybe be 2" drop from the frame.!.?... My question is, for ground clearance, would it be better to use this skid plate or the 2" drop skid plate for my 98 TJ sport 6 cyl manual with *1" body lift* and 2.5" suspension lift ?

Did a small block Chevy turbo 350 conversion to my 98 with a 6” lift will this work for me
