I’m really happy with how this install went, there are a lot of pieces to put together, but it was all easy enough.
Dimensions
• 72 x 56
• Platform is 1 ½” thick
• Total height from the centerline of the roof is: 3 1/4"
• Total system weight about approx. 60lbs
• Weight capacity 256lbs dynamic and 800lbs static pound rating
Why I bought it
- No exoskeleton
- Allows me to take the hardtop on and off easily
- Clean design
- Low profile
- Load rating
- Lots of accessories, for mounting lights, a roller to help with loading in the rear, maxtrax, high lift jack, bike carriers, etc…..
- Roof top tent!
Very low wind noise and no issue with my satellite radio so far.

You sir have cost me thousands of dollars with your videos. I keep buying things. Expect a cease and desist letter from my wife. All kidding aside, great content as always Brad. Ordered the rack yesterday and will have it installed by the shop as I do not have the moral fiber to drill into the roof. Kudos to you and your hands on approach. Definitely considering supporting you through patreon and would love to join you on a trip someday (I'm less than 2 hours north of san diego). All the best!

Watching your video on this roof rack convinced me to buy it. It showed up today! I'm looking forward to installing it this weekend. I really enjoy all the quality videos you produce, especially because your build is almost exactly what I want mine (2016 JKU Rubicon) to end up like. Your videos have already helped considerably. It looks like you are still able to pull it into the garage and that a huge perk to me. I would not want to add something that would not permit me to park y jeep in the garage. Hi Brad, your videos are inspiring. My local auto shop has a 20% off fathers day special on, l picked up a rhino rack pioneer platform system & will be fitting it this weekend. I got a bit of a surprise picking it up as the pioneer platform is preassembled which means it doesnt fit in the back. Looks like for the Australian market they assemble them. So I'll be going back with a ute or trailer to collect it. Keep up the great video's.

I love this rack and recently installed one on my build and also bought the smittybilt roof top tent but the tent brackets won't align with the rhino rack. How did you go about mounting your tent to the rack itself? I'm debating on drilling 2 more holes in the bottom of my tent and moving the mounting bracket over around 4 inches so it aligns correctly. Is they somewhat how you ended up mounting yours?

Great video as always! It looks like you’ve got the Mopar hardtop headliner? What did you have to do to it to fit the internal mounts?

I did have to trim them just a bit and squeeze pretty hard to get the mount to come together. For those that don't have the headliner.... it's much easier.

Would you feel comfortable to lift the roof off by attaching ropes etc to the rack? Would it be strong enough?

Rhino Rack, I see you added some upgrades to the rack mount. Do you still have this rhino rack mounted? Been wanting the rhino rack with the pioneer platform for awhile now. I recently won a slimline II from front runner outfitters but don’t want to install it as I am still interested in the rhino rack system. I would like to remove my hard top with out dissembling the whole rack... ugh

hey there! Love the channel and the detail of the videos, just wondering: 1. Do you happen to have a link for the backbone that would fit a 2-Door JK? (Not sure if they make those) 2. And did I hear you right when you said your tent goes on top of this roof rack? Is a rack a requirement for the tent? Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work!

I don't think they make one for a 2 door, but I would recommend contacting them directly. Yes, a RTT needs a rack to support it.

Good looking rack Brad. I don’t think I can drill into my hard top. But it looks really clean when your all done.

I just got a new 2016 four-door Jeep Wrangler unlimited. I love the Rhino rack! The exoskeleton are to bulky and take away from the beauty of the Jeep. Thank you so much for all your information and clear, easy to understand video tutorial. I think I finally found my low profile rack. PS what’s the price of this rack and where can I order it? Can you hang the entire top from the rafters? That would make for very easy removal and storage!

I bought the same one but for a JL (backbone mounting system with the rhino rack platform). I can’t find it in any of the comments here if they had any issues (weight) when 2-3 people sleeping in the roof top tent. I’m concerned about the weight limit. Or maybe i just don’t understand the dynamic vs static weight. When you’re parked and the tent is set up, how much weight can this hold up?
