buy bmw x5 its super smooth or cayenne there is tons of stock insulations under neath, wrangler reminds me soviet unian yaz very good at off rd maybe even better then rubicon

It would have been nice to have had a before and after sound sample

The great installation process for this product. It's a keeper as this will absorb the sounds and keep the inside of the Jeep cooler. Great video 📼.

Got that right! Jeep sell us a $55k vehicle and leave so much things unfinished!! At least give us carpet on the tops, and plastic door sill pieces, all other trucks have these minimal finishes. When we add headliners and door sill plastic covers, they look like they’re stuff that should’ve came from factory! Come on Jeep, seriously you milk us for every nickel and dime!!

I paid for the headliner package on my rubi ($500 I think) and it's PATHETIC. I tell everyone to not buy it. I've literally had the panels come unglued and they are SO thin, basically a thin layer of some recycled cardboard like material with some automotive carpeting literally glued on with some hot glue. Not adhesive tape or anything. The Hot Heads headliner is so, so, so much better. I'm unfamiliar with this Coverking one. It actually looks as thin as the OEM but but I'm sure it's not. At least it covers the entire thing.

I have the headliner package on mine and I agree with everyone! Jeep should have made their headliner option like this. I’m sure they would have WAY more people purchasing this option if it came like this!

Spray paint it black. Did it on my JKU and now on my JT

Jeep is like Idea furniture. You buy it, assemble and make it better. Why isn't this installed from factory is beyond me.

Our thoughts exactly!

This is a definite improvement over the stock white, and probably one of the better looking options available. But I've seen way too many drooping headliners over the years to invest in one just yet. Maybe if they used a construction adhesive I'd jump in.

We've heard from a few people that have picked up construction adhesive and used it instead. However, we've not had any problem with the 3M tape strips that come in the kit. They are very sticky.

For the price they charge for one of these jeeps this should have been standard.

Exactly. It's redicilous. Even the Rubicon and Mojave don't have these.

3m adhesion promoter helps. Especially if you live in a hot climate over time the adhesive can start to loosen.

I was really mad until I found them for the jku ...

This style is the best. However, during the summer the heat from the roof melted the glue and the top liner comes lose. So I had it reglued with the heat glue i did it my self.

@@northridgenation Northridge4x4 Yes we were in Vegas, and the car was parked outside all the time, the heat was extreme, my friend also parked outside that time he drove a SUV 4Runner and his car had a insulation / sound deadening material installed before the factory headliner. Maybe he got the very cheap stuffs you know the black one like asphalt type. And that thing melted like hell, he got to replace with the new factory headliner. But your product adhesive needs extra stronger adhesive. Once I replaced the glue with the 3M double tape extra hold the 11Kg strength. But they still fell off, so I had to use the heat glue to make it sort of permanent, but the heat glue adhesive can be pulled off no problem and cleaned up with adhesive remover but they are stucked on the head liner. Well I'm just sharing my review. But dont get me wrong once your headliner are installed, they are awesome. Becaue this headliner covers all the ceiling.

@@ValentineCrescent This is my only suggestion: just use the glue tape that comes from the factory, but add somemore "Scotch or 3M double tape extra strong" and put some heat glue the adhesive type that uses special heat gun to melt the glue. And just put this heat glue on several spots like dots on the top and side. Do not use this glue all over, just enough on several spots for support. This should be ok. And let it settle down. Don't apply this adhesive during extreme hot or cold.

Could you use Sound Assassin strips beneath this and still get a good bond?

The adhesive strips don't cover the whole surface, so by moving things around, you could possibly make it work.

Have you tried the available charcoal color? I’m wondering if it would match the plastic interior panels better than the black?

Sorry, we haven't tried the charcoal yet.

Since this headliner covers the whole top and not just some sections like others, do you have any issues with the GPS or satellite antennae signals? I want to make sure before purchasing since other ones don’t cover the section that the antennas are located.

We haven't noticed any problems.

This Coverking topliner looks great. Could you install this headliner over a top a sound deadening mat like kilmat 80 mil? Trying to quiet the ride as much as possible. Possible or not a good idea? Very interested in getting this topliner for my jeep JT. Thanks Mike

@@michelbourgoin8220 huge difference! I live 3 hours south of Chicago and haven't had the heat past the 1st notch. Also I have hands free and the calls are crystal clear. I still have to add kilmat to the inside of the doors this spring. The only thing I wished I would have done is paint the edges of the top black as the interior is black as well as the liner. I catch glimpses of the white top in the edges. I can send a video if you are interested .

How strong is the adhesive? Some thoughts I have after watching this were, adding some aluminum backed noise dampner underneath, and maybe sticking the factory headliner to this for a quieter, finished look.

It is stickier than all get out. We didn't try to pull the liner out after it set-up, though our guess is it would be tough. Go for it, any extra insulation would only help more.

I did this. I used Kilmat and covered the entire top. I did buy the roller set from Amazon. Then installed the top. It fit like a glove. Very quiet as i use hands free and its as quiet as a car. Also, at 50 degrees down the highway with the heat off, I didn't need a jacket.

@@-JeepinJason- it is working awesome! I ordered two boxes from Amazon. I completely covered the top and then did the liner. Used the rest of the box on the floors and completely covered it. Still have over half a box left. The sound is quieter than my wife's Ford Edge. As far as insulation goes, I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt in 51 degree weather while going down highway at 60. I never turned on the heater!

We've seen people use the Lizard Skin spray in sound deadening insulation. They say it works real well with the Top Liners.

We haven't tried that yet, but it should work, just make sure to get everything really clean and use lots of adhesive.

Be better was thicker in some areas for more sound deadening. But damn looks good

Wny is the jt cover the same cost as the Jl when it’s so much smaller?

Danial, I lined my top with 80 ml thick Killmat and then put my liner in. The sound deadening is phenomenal! I also lined all floor area. It is very quiet on the highway.

How long did it take from start to finish?

Due to filming, it took us a quite a few hours spread out over two days. If we were to do it again without interruption, we could do it in 3 hours or so.

How do u remove the rear defroster wire if it's not broken?

Use a pic or small screwdriver to pop the wire off of the button on the glass.

I have a question I'm planning on using soundskin 80mil to sound deaden & then 150mil noico red to help with the heat and cold.would be doing the whole hard top of my JL would that affect the installation of the top liner headliner? Im doing this because I'm putting in powerful stereo system and I'm trying to cut back on vibration Etc.

We haven't tried that, but it shouldn't be much difference. One thought would be to use a spray in adhesive, it would help bond the Topliner to the other substrates more securely. Let us know how your project goes!

@@CRXUGLYKID It's a suggestion.The tape strips work fine, but there is unsecured sections between the tape strips. For optimum sound we would think that having all the Topliner secured would be better. BUT we would recommend talking with Noico about their product and how best to adhere the Topliner to it.

@@northridgenation I'm most likely going to put the sound deadener to the hardtop I haven't seen anyone do it other than the old JK models so I'm going to speak to the people who create the sound deadner and see if it's possible and if they say that yes you can add an adhesive spray to it and the headliner can be secure to it then I would do the install of the sound deadner and then drive down to Utah to have you guys install the top liner.I'll keep you posted.

If I wanted to bring it to your guys facility in Salt Lake City Utah would you guys do the installation and if so what would be the price to do the job. If not would you know an authorized location in New York ny that would be able to do the job and be trustworthy

We haven't done a decibel test comparison. Though the Topliner has more coverage than the inserts, so it should be quieter.

The adhesive is junk. It had fused with the clear plastic sheet. I could not peel to even apply to the panel.

They are very hard to get started peeling, but once you do, they come off pretty easy. If yours are real bad, Coverking will send you replacement sheets.

it will allow you to reach in from hatch with window out of the way

I did this with 3 cans of spray paint for $25. Don’t waste your money.

The spray paint trick works great to cover up the white on the cheap. It just doesn't give any extra insulation or sound deadening.

It isn't anout the color. It's about audio and thermal insulation, as well as a more finished look in the interior. That doesn't come in a can...

It's not just about "the look". It reduces noise and helps control the cabin temperature, thus making your AC work more efficiently.

@@christianlarose1203 I put this in my jeep in September. I also added Kilmat to the roof and tub first. I did this to quiet down the ride. It definitely worked. I live in Central Illinois and haven't had my heat blower on high than "2". Only part I regret is painting all the edges black. I will rectify that this spring.

@@ValentineCrescent I did mine in my front yard. I also put kilmat down first. FYI, if you do the same, you'll need to move the Satellite antenna. That being said, the install is really easy. The adhesive is super sticky. Once I had the liner in, I used the same $10 roller kit from my kilmat to roll out the carpet. I also let it sit in the sun a couple of hours.
