Jeep Gladiator Diesel - 40,000 Mile Review!

It's that time again! Today, I am doing a 40,000 mile review on my 2021 Jeep Gladiator Diesel! Ive put some hard miles on the Jeep and these last 10,000 miles have shown in. In the video, I'll talk you through the few problems that I've had with the EcoDiesel and what has had to happen to get them corrected. And of course I will also tell you about why I still absolutely love my Jeep. Please consider supporting the channel and future Life Outdoors adventures by picking up some merch from my store! Hope y'all enjoyed the video and I'll catch you on the next one!

Great review. I bought a new 2021 diesel in October 2020 and now have 39700 miles with no issues. I’m also still waiting on a fuel pump. I changed my oil myself for the first time last week and got a low oil pressure warning. I read something in the Gladiator forum and loosened the filter then made sure it was torqued to at least 18 lbs and this fixed the problem. I’m also getting about 25 mpg. I love this vehicle and will keep it for awhile. Keep those reviews coming.

Good video, man. Straight to the point. I have a diesel Colorado and stumbled across this and gave it a watch just to see if similar issues were popping up between manufacturers. Sucks about the pitman arm. Glad it was a relatively quick fix.

I appreciate that! I was looking at those colorados too when I was first on the hunt for a mid size diesel truck but weve been a Jeep family so I stuck to what I know. Yeah the pitman arm was a bummer but at least it was just that and not anything up into the steering column! Thanks for watching and love the channel name.

Honest review - thanks. 15K on a 2023 diesel Willys - driving in Colorado and the mountains. No complaints - and I have truly enjoyed owning it. Banks P tuner changes the engine from soggy to what it really should be: responsive and useful. Odd - I am using less DEF with more miles as well. ✌

Thanks for watching! love to hear it, they are great vehicles. I keep hearing that about the tuner, I want to do it but I'm worried about the warranty implications.

@@LifeOutdoors I was as well. Two things: it doesn't leave a footprint in the ECU, and it won't allow the engine to exceed any design safety specs. Happy wheeling!

@@battleboy2138 Hmm that sounds pretty concerning. You should reach out to Banks, they should warranty that or be able to diagnose the issue.

Awesome vids man, love 'em. You got me back at your "Bald Eagle!" video. My wife and I are looking at purchasing a used gladiator. What are your thoughts on eco-diesel vs gas? Have you had any issues with the sensors or going into limp mode? And I know it's a painful subject, but... what's your now longer experience with DEF? Thanks again for your efforts and time putting out your content.

  • @LifeOutdoors

haha hey well I'm glad you thought that was funny and stuck around for the next iteration! I would say if you're looking for that truck feel then go with the diesel but if you want cheaper ownership overall go with the gas. I just always thought the 3.6 gasser was underpowered for my wrangler so I avoided the gas model when I bought the gladiator and the 3.0 diesel feels much more powerful and torque'y. No sensor or limp mode issues so far! And the DEF fluid is lasting much longer now which is great and I have a local DEF pump that simplifies the process so its not as much of a sore issue any more. Thanks for watching!
