    Using this video for inspiration on living out of my XJ the next couple months. The cabinet closest to driver seat was thinking about a mini sink and camping stove.

    My rear under seat storage has the following right now. My Viet Nam issue folding shovel in carrying case. And also a Folding saw a Hatchet and some nails. Also the OEM Jack and a 50 year old breaker bar for stuborn lug nuts. And yep still more room if placed right. I will be doing this addition also. That is a really clever build my friend.

    Nice build. I've been thinking about the rear window replacement storage lockers but the shelves you made seem like a better and more affordable idea.

    I’m on the road to becoming a crane operator. Sometimes operators have to spend 30 hours on a job site just waiting to be needed. I’m going to convert a Jeep Cherokee to have a stove fridge and sink so I can cook meals and eat healthy instead of eating out all the time. Also it will be nice to have a bed to sleep on instead of the back seat of a truck.

    this is a great setup you have. I was curious the spare tire did you ever move that to the outside on one of those sliding compartment bumpers ? to give yourself more space inside.

    Very nice work indeed. Have you thought about installing the spare on the roof somehow? I'm looking for ideas on how to accomplish that because I have a 100 lb dog that needs room. I have an old 95 ZJ 5.2 I got cheap and doing work on. Thanks for sharing your work.

    your vid was visited to see if a RV furnace was added. the Suburban 2446ABK at 19K BTU looks to be a bit large and too much heat. wondering if you've seen such a setup. and if a roof mount would be more practical.

    I just removed the rear seats in my Jeep so I can store items in the space formerly occupied by the seats. Cut a piece of plywood to make a smooth surface. I can now sleep comfortably.

    Right on man! I've been living in my ZJ traveling around shooting action sports events all over Southern & Central California. I lost my house and all of my belongings in Sept and took a drive.... Until Christmas... lol. I am a full time photographer (or was until all of my gear was stolen) and was supporting myself day by day at those events i mentioned. I took off without any planning and had to experience the nuances of living in a space 35.5" tall while driving, living and surviving on and off road as a homeless perdon in the mountains, deserts, beaches and walmart parking lots. I had nothing when i started but i have been putting my rig together as ive gone along. Everything and i mean EVERYTHING came from a trash pile. Im currently in a stationary spot for a month so ive begun the full on camper set up. I gutted the back and just finished gathering all my parts and peices to begin the next generation inside this thing. Everything once again coming from scrap piles. I dig what you have created thus far. Hit me up and lets share ideas. I see a couple spots that my experience my help shed a different light on how you will get along with your jeep build and thanks to you in I have seen an idea very similar to one of my drawings in action... Thank you for that! You answered some questions i thought i might have. Who knows what could come of us sharing ideas. Could be pretty cool.

    Well thought out plan and good storage. Like you, I can just barely sleep in mine end to end. What do you do with the tire each night? Throw it on top or just let it lay by the Jeep?

  • @DogoBeans

    Thanks! So the Jeep is just a weekender, but, yes the tire turned out to be a pita to take out when sleeping back there. I actually ended up mounting it to the back on the hatch with a spare tire mount from a liberty. Did a little reinforcement on the hatch. It’s just a little heavy to open now, but it works. Would love to get a swing out tire carrier bumper, but that’s way too expensive for me right now!

    How has the wood stood up the past few months? My initial idea was to build like yours but concerned about rattling and alignment. Use any glue or sealant along with fasteners?

  • @DogoBeans

    @DogoBeans

    5 жыл бұрын

    Jake Grove Photo the wood has held up fine. Planning on covering it with carpet, just haven’t gotten around to that yet. Most of the structure is just screwed together minus the plywood sheet on the bottom which is glued as well. Things do rattle a little bit, but not too much. Overall it is pretty solid. It’s a Jeep so it rattles a little anyway, might just be used to that ;) I put some stick on felt things for like the bottom of furniture on the bottoms of the doors and whatnot so that helps a lot. Probably going to post up an update video soon. I’ve made a few minor changes, additions, etc. thanks for watching!

    Coben Varland 2 door Cherokee’s should have this feature to gain entry to the rear seating area... if you have a four door, won’t have that feature. Could try to find the bracket from junkyard, online, etc. thanks for watching!

    Can you open up the rear hatch from the inside? On my Cherokee Pioneer I can only open it from the outside. Did you make a mod for this? Also can passengers still ride in the back sitting on the crash pad?

  • @DogoBeans

    @DogoBeans

    4 жыл бұрын

    Josh Grant I did mess with trying to get the hatch to open from inside, but never came up with anything that worked out... I just flip the front seat forward and hop back out the driver side door. As for the rear seating.... I’ve been meaning to put up another video, but I did rebuild this setup. So there is seating for one in the back.
