Jean De Villiers - The Intercept King
Спорт
Jean De Villiers will go down in history as one of the greatest centres the world has ever seen. He made his international debut two years before making his Super Rugby debut for the Stormers. He scored, and more importantly, created some great tries for the Springboks in his long and distinguished career which spanned from 2002 - 2015.
Enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

2016 5776 he had pace, able to get over the advantage line, passing was good but his knowledge of the game, vision, defence organisation and ability to read the game was what made him one of the best centres. Great bloke on and off the field. One of South Africa's best.

from a kiwi this guy was awsome..
Awesome to see all of Jean's test tries in one video. Keep them coming. He was a true legend of SA Rugby. One of the best centres ever, in partnership with Jaque Fourie
I had heard of this guy but don't know so much about South African rugby. These highlights really impressed me. He is a top-quality player. He was fast but also could bash through defences like a forward.
from this kiwi - De Villiers was a class act and a class player.Always remember the AB's getting their players mixed up in a test,Jean could have made something of it.He chose not to,which demonstrated what a fine person he was.RESPECT.

Was always going to be a tough game when devilliers came to play the all blacks. My favourite bok of all time. Much respect.
Wow Jean de Villiers - what a player!
12:10 Notice how Jean Devilliers taps Bismarck to let him know where he is! Brilliant communication!
His a true Paarl gim legend, showed gimmie guts in every match he played
I miss this era of Springbok rugby.
I think people underestimated his pace, because of his running style. And because of that he could cut through defences with ease. Apparently was the fastest guy in the Springbok team over 30meters, indicating genuine acceleration. He also had great distribution skills; would have loved to see him playing with Dan Carter on his inside, and Tana Umaga on his outside.
A true gentleman, and a fantastic player a real ambassador for the sport
Outstanding strength, ability, speed and intelligence 😎☮🏈
Great player. I just feel for nim. Every time he was close to some kind of a great success, he got injured. And I mean "seriously injured" . Three times he started World Cup, and he ruptured his shoulder (2007, first game), broke ribs (2011, first game) and broke jaw (2015, second gamę). You cannot call nim injury prone. Just unlucky.

Yeah Pawel. He was very unlucky when it came to World Cups. Even in 2003 he was supposed to make the squad but tore his shoulder in a warm up game against the Valke. I think in 2007 he tore a bicep. Very very unlucky
Met him once in Durbanville genuine bloke same as Schalk Burger
The Great JDV. Always a pleasure to watch.
This guy was relentless
Purê class -plain and simple- wow !
That last try at Newlands! Now Newlands is no more, but at least Jean has that memory to cap off his career
LEGEND
that try against the brumbies were one of the greatest backline tries,we don't see tries like that anymore by the stormers, they were unlucky to finish 5th that season, they won all their last games,if they went to the semis they would've been huge competition
One of the Springbok Legends, difficult to replace. Unfortunately his last year didn't end so great
6:02 he took that man's soul.

That show of absolute front up power against the Kiwis in that epic had me lifting the roof off my mates house with noise
Great tackle breaking ability, fast and a good reader of the game who scored multiple counterattacking tries through his interceptions. Too many injuries to be regarded as the greatest, but comes close.....

I've always loved the music used in this intro. Any way of getting the song?
miss him at the stormers, one of the greatest rugby players
What is the song that's playing at the beginning of the video?
I wasn't a fan when he first came on the scene, especially because they seemed intent on playing him at flyhalf which was not his best position. I also don't think he was an outstanding Bok Captain. But as his career progressed my thoughts about him changed and I was a big fan by the time he retired. Great player and he had good character.
