If you want to only connect connect plus speakers together and don't plan on getting another jbl speaker with connect plus, get the pulse 3, but if you are thinking of getting another jbl speaker on the future, get the pulse 4 because it has USB type- c charging and party boost, which is not compatible with jbl connect plus speakers, only partyboost compatible speakers. If you are not gonna get a newer jbl speaker get the pulse 3, but if you want type-c charging and future proofing with partyboost get the pulse 4.

I wish JBL would make a Pulse Boombox.

@@deurisliranzo9909 you can customize the sound on the app I believe, I never messed with the settings, I listen to a lot of heavy bass music, I feel pulse 4 is better, i still have the pulse 3, have that one connected to my monitor though aux cord and play my Nintendo switch and it's fine, while I have my pulse 4 connected to my laptop when gaming and it's awesome

In my ears and wearing headphones my opinions is : You can clearly notice the bass difference between them , pulse 3 has better bass . But pulse 4 has more clear sound because the speaker is on top . if i had to choose, i would go for pulse 4 . I dont mind losing a little bass because im getting clearer 360 sound and better rgb lighting formation .

The pulse 3 sounds better from what I can hear in this video.

There is a lot of bass reduction on the pulse 4 on max volume and kinda harsh on trebles

The Pulse 4 has boosted highs, but the frequenzy range is less compared to the Pulse 3. an 57mm driver = 12000-14000hz highest. For some people already unnoticeable.

I dont like the pulse 4's off setting idk man i think when the pulse 3 is turned off the pulse 3 has this black screen instead of a blurry white plastic screen behind. That makes the pulse 3 look more professional even when its turned off. Not only that but the pulse 3 has better sound quality and it has speakers at not only the top and bottom sides of the cylinder but also around it, making sounds far better distributed.

Pulse 3 is better :-D

The Pulse 3 is better looking in my opinion, not a fan of the black bars of the Pulse 4 even tho the whole speaker is a lamp.

Nice comparison . Jbl should make a light device that reacts to external sounds and music via built in microphone or vibrations sensor. Most are buying for lights anyway and most have other speakers that sound better.

The Lights are much better but the sound is not.

Imma be honest the pulse 2 and 3 look much more elegant. The 2 is very utilitarian whereas the 3 kinda just has an elegant vibe with that bottom mesh.

Imho the p4 has alot of room for improvement both in looks and in substance. The black edge, the connectors being at an awful place, the single driver and single reflector, even the lightshow is dull looking at it through that dark edge. The mids and highs are better but that can be irritating in most songs adding hissing. 3 drivers with 2x double bass transducers and 2x double bass relectors places the p3 as a different animal but have to admit in some cases p4 sounded better, amazing sound enginnering. Waiting for the p5 before retiring my p3.

Thanks for another great review! Although it looks good, it still doesn't warrant buying the Pulse 4, if you have, and like your Pulse 3! The virtually incompatible Party connection, with the older speakers, is a minus, until they come out with the next wave of compatible speakers!

Pulse 3 should be compared to the ue boom 3 or megaboom 3. Such a beautiful speaker. Not surprised that there isnt any bass.

Personally I don't like at all the new design, the lights and sound in pulse 4 are good but I don't think that's enough evolution coming of the 3. Considering quality and price I might go for pulse 3 now.

You need bass jbl. Hear pounding earth shaking bass. The Pulse 3 was borderline missing bass now they have completely no bass. It sounds like a flip 5. Compare it to a flip 5.

If you want that you Need to get some good bookshelf speakers or Even a Subwoofer but its good that JBL tries to get as natural sound as possible out of the portable speakers instead of trying to get hard bass out of it.

The whole point of a party light music box is for the bass and light show. They made it less bassy on a newer model... Light show alone only gets you so far!

Quality wise, economy wise. Id put my money on Pulse 3, maaan, this is a desperate move for JBL. They should’ve waited longer for the pulse series to upgrade. Pulse 3 is still better its not that obsolete

I think the JBL Pulse 4 lights is not fully glow to the top of the speaker, I saw video people open their pulse 3 and pulse 4, the length of the led strip of both if these are nearly the same, but pulse 4 is shorter and it has plastic thing that absorb some light at the top to make it glow a little bit to the top, maybe pulse 5 can fix that by using some mirror reflecting system to maintain the full glowing effect of the entire pulse body, nice review, still thinking to get either one of these, lights or sound,,,,, personally an audiophile and a violinist, also got a xtreme 1 and xb30.

Things that i hate jbl now 1.partyboost 2.mono 3.waste of money to buy that Btw im still stick with my ex1 and c3 😊😁😎 Thank for the vid. Peace out✌😎✌

@@siebwiep1489 why? if you replace a passive radiator by a real active subwoofer, it is alwqays better. it can reproduce more bass, morefrequencies than jsut a passive radiator which is tune to just one frequency especially. both are for bass repsonse but the active sub would be way better. they could add a small port in adidiotn maybe .it isnt waterproof anyways i thik or is it

@@TechnikToni-Overtribe tief spielen kann er auch durch nen subwoofer bzw. Normalen treiber. Der passivradiator verstärkt die frquenz auf die er getuned wurde nur duch luftbewegung eben. Passiver subwoofer halt der aber keine frquenzen aktiv reproduzieren kann. Subwoofer+port wäre sicherlich leistungsstärker im bassbereich und somit könnte der sub alles bis 100 hz oder höher übernehmen und den rest der mitteltöner oder was auch immer oben verbaut ist. Also ein 2wege system wäre sicherkich besser als 1 treiber und unten ein mini passivradiator

JBL just doing some junk. No 3.5 jack,open USB-C connector, unnecessary PARTYBOOST, one passive driver !!! And new pulse looks like rubbish from 2005. I really hope people will not buy a new generation of jbl speakers.

I know that it says that you can shake the Pulse 4 to sync your light show with one or many pulse 4s, but will they actually sync up completely or will it just go to the same mode as if you scrolled through with the light mode button until you got on the same mode as the original Pulse that you are trying to connect to? For instance, if you were to put 2 or 4 of them right next to each other and you synced the light show, would it actually look like one blob of light going up and down or would the light go up and down at slightly different moments between the connected pulse 4s? Hopefully this question makes sense. Thanks

Definitely notice the difference in them pulse 4 is more up to date sane way there doing phones now loosing the thick round about bezels but the 4 has Definitely improved sound ways aswell doesn't sound as much distortion in it than the pulse 3 at 60% there you heard it!
