In this video, it might not be the usual match up for you, to compare the JBL Partybox Encore to the Harman Onyx Studio 8. There are two kinds of test, both set to 80% volume, the Encore was set to Bass Boost 1, and Flat 0's or default EQ in the first test, and Bass Boost 2 also in default EQ in test 2. While Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 doesn't have equalization.

Wow! that Harman Onyx is a clear win for me. I like the surround sound quality, detailed sound and deeper Bass. 💯

The Encore has more bass, more power and a wider range of tones to it, where as the Onyx 8 sounds more balanced, but outside, you can't hear it's extended bass as well as you can the Encore, so the Encore has a better sound and tone to it over all, Plus you can adjust the EQ with the Encore

I think one could get two Studio 8s (7?) for the price of the Encore. Shouldn't that add +3dB loudness? And give better stereo and sound stage?

JBL Partybox Encore for the win cause the bass is very deep and loud better than the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8. like for deep bass go for JBL Partybox Encore for normal listening go for Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8. Anyway nice review and support from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 🇲🇾

I’d say that the partybox is for parties, and onyx 8 for home.

Bass boost 1 on the encore sounds more balanced and natural. Bassboost 2 sounds like someone’s playing bongos on a oatmeal box.

Pb110 is my favorite. The way it is tuned suits my taste. It can bring a little bit of everything.

For me I like the softer and punchy bass of HK

HK speaker sounds so good but eventually turn into crap because the speaker always bust!

My Onyx 5 has incredible bass...simply amazing....but...the speaker is severely underpowered and is only good for in-the-house. You take it outside and it sounds terrible.
