We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzread.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

Not that high quality. Do you expect it to be made with titanium and plated with gold. It is made for sound quality

I disassemble this very speaker and I can tell you from experience that the cone is probably thinner than paper, if you press on it the wrong way there will be deep grooves.

Wayne Leong once again I say, it is made for sound quality, the lighter the cone is the less power it requires to move it and it is much more responsive than a speaker with a heavier cone

Metal also doesn’t vibrate as easily so the speaker would have worse resonance sound.

Good design from JBL, with relatively cheap speakers creating a good sound. There are not many speakers who use different speakers for the highs and mids/bass. That can be a huge improvement if used good speakers and filter.

The battery in my Flip 4 was swollen to the point I couldn't remove it. I tried various methods to extract it. Ultimately that led to a fire and lots of smoke. I did get the melted battery out. Unfortunately the device was destroyed in the fire. Moral of the story. Don't try charging a bad battery repeatedly.

Perfect, exactly where you get to the point, you can't see a thing....

Thanks for the video. I had to take it apart to clean off the metal shavings magnetized to the speakers causing a horrible rattle.

You should start opening jbl flip 4 from the oposite side. On the buttons side are much bigger clips!

i have a flip 3. passive radiators has a WHOLE new meaning to me now. a post i've seen shows the flip models from jbl being directional. tube shaped, yes, but: point the jbl trademark where the sound is supposed to travel! of course!! all the sound is provided by the front facing speakers, with the available bass following passively. from the side mounted drivers sealed inside this tube design. ingenious. and space saving. yet the onyx mini [while not moisture resistant,] kicks it's ass out of the park and weighs a few hundred grams more. big magnet. big driver: and LOOK OUT. sound

Mine has developed a weird smell after being exposed to moisture continuously, not sure how to fix it. I haven’t disassembled it yet because I imagine it’s only on the mesh.

Great! I really like to see more of these kind of hands-on speaker "CSI" video's. :) This way we can get an even better idea about these products, their internals, construction and build quality. Thumbs up! Suggestion: maybe a fixed focus instead of autofocus setting of the main camera could improve the picture sharpness of the object, undisturbed by your moving hands?

I understand, but I think the trick here might be to keep the product in the focus(ed) area and not to move it around (back and forth) a lot during that take. For close-ups you already have a great solution, a second cam. Because you move your hands, the autofocus of the main cam gets confused and takes much time to adjust itself. You don't want that, I would think. You could also decide to shoot some extra close-up or back-side/detail shots in a seperate take (and edit/mix them in afterwards). I also wonder if adding more light could help to improve the picture and focus(depth). The products are often black matte and filming in low light or in the shadow side doesn't help to bring out the details on most screens/monitors. One more thing: smelling the products.. (besides having a certain fetish-like quality ;) )...what you smell is maybe not a harmless perfume. I suspect most of what you smell could be chemical solvents that many of the used synthetic materials contain during the production processes and which vaporise / are released after unpackaging. These solvents might not always be harmless. Just thinking out loud. Keep it up, I realy enjoy your videos and your efforts to make them special. :)

What a gyp. This isn't disassembly. Taking off the grill and removing a driver? That's not disassembly. That's removing the grill & unscrewing an element. Disassembly is taking something down to it's component level. The same as disassembling a car doesn't mean taking off the car cover & opening the doors.

Plastic doesn't mean cheap construction bud, the quality of the plastic for one is very good, and 2 the speaker is assembled very professionally. It feels premium and it *is* premium

DK1213 it’s premium but only for the money Plastic will never be a premium material in the Hi-Fi world because stuff like wood or even metal is far superior sound wise usually Still, I’d never expect this speaker to be made out of wood or similar materials and I’m not complaining

Sorry, but you missed to take off the sides, you toy with the side membrane, they are kept in place by 4 screws and give you access to exchange the battery - which is the only reason to open the product.

As people get older their eyesight isn't as good - please use more light. As you begin each step, move in close, point to what you are going to pry or remove, and PAUSE. Let us see that please.

Great video. Did you test pressing (-) volume together with bluetooth button for 10 seconds? The sound changes. I'd like to see some tests from someone that can record and analyse the results. You can change many times and at the end you can reset the device pressing (+) button together with bluetootn button for 10 seconds too.

Is low frecuenci mode it desactives the limit of energy from the output so the bas would be lot more strong, but is dangerous and whith too much volume you can broke it, don't use it at more than 60/80% whit low frecuency mode you will broke it

Guys pls help!! My old battery is stuck into the speaker can’t get it out bcuz of the glue inside. Any tips how to remove it?

You left out half of the disassembly. The battery and end caps are replaceable before removing the drivers. Remove the spine and end caps.

Everytime my JBL kick the Bass the lights flashes and the Power sometimes goes down. Any idea what It might be?

Wenn du den weiter auseinander baust sieht man z.B. den Amp Chip und kann auf dem Datenblatt sehen wieviel Watt Sinus der Chip abgeben kann. Außerdem stehen auf den Li Ion Zellen die Kapazität und der Herstellungsort. Bose benutzt beim Revolve z.B. hochwertige LiPo-Zellen aus Japan und *nicht* aus China!

airwolf1337 naja, das alles steht doch auf deren Webseite, wozu dann riskieren den Lautsprecher zu beschädigen? Ich glaube, dass JBL günstigere Akkus verwendet, sonst wäre er ja nicht so günstig im Vergleich zum Bose.

I also wanna replace the original drivers with more watts so I can crank up the volume in low frequency mode. The original ones keep bottoming out on me so I have to turn the volume down. I don’t want the voice coil to be dented or it’s going to start scratching or to sound worse

Quite enlightening as we have one at home, but it was missing to disassemble and talk about the batteries, the video was somewhat incomplete. And this recurring blur was very unpleasant.

You should unclip both sides of the grille and then it comes off easier. Your lighting and shooting is good but you should talk less and edit it down to 5 minutes. It kind of drags on... too slowly.

I need to fix the usb port. This video only showed half of what I needed to know.

Evt. mal Akku tauschen is easy! Wenn du die Box auf hast siehst du ob der Akku aufgequllen ist wenn ja sofort tauschen!
