Really good interview you hit a lot of points. I can actually tell the sound quality difference. I like that you can charge your phone with the charge 4 but the sound quality is a con.

Which better for classical music, orchestra, or vocals? I'm not looking for thumping base but bass that'd give richer/filling sound would be good. You said Charge 4 isn't very good with clarity, so kinda torn between these two.

BUT! Using the Flip 4 and Charge 4 in party mode results in a really nice dynamic sound profile with good bass and clear highs and mids. The Charge 4 basically gives the Flip 4 the bass it falls a bit short on and Flip 4 gives the Charge 4 a bit more highs.

I will have to go for the big speaker because what I learned in medical class was that the bigger the instrument which is the bigger speaker the lowest bass it would have even a small speaker has also the bass

I dont know which one is better, I'd say if you prefer sound quality over portability I'd choose the charge 4, but the flip 4 has tinnier sound at high-full volume. The charge 4 sounds Better than flip 4 at higher volume, and charge 4 has more bass, higher wattage, and built in USB port for charging devices, and USB type c for charging. though sometimes the bass overtakes the higher pitch in the charge 4 and only has 1 speaker (come on jbl, you couldve put another one in) and the flip 4 has crisp sounds, I'd say leave your opinion, but I honestly love the charge 4.

Just gave up my beloved special edition camo flip 4 for a charge 3 camo edition i had so much fun with the flip 4 i almost feel sad waiting for this charge 3 to come in. I will definitely be buying the flip 4 again when i can though i love how small but potent it is and the string is an extra bonus to secure it to things or hang it from something but i also couldnt pass up the extra sound richness from a bigger speaker

Yes, the Flip 4 and the Charge 4 use the same version of JBL Connect and can be paired together.

Sony SRS xb31....do not use a JBL as it has visible passive radiator and if it falls once on it's side the radiator will tear resulting in pathetic bass.......use the xb31 as it is very well covered and durable.....this is my review

Although that is true, if you put your charge 4 in a pocket of your bag or make something to hold it, it would be absolutely fine, and the flip 4 has a string so you can attach it to your pant loops or to your backpack, or really whatever

If you can do more important things with that money, I'd say it's not worth it. But if it's truly disposable cash and you want to do something nice for yourself, it's worth it.

It's still a great speaker for the price. If the cost matters the most to you, I'd go with the Flip 4.

My JBL charge 4 got stolen; I’m about to buy a new one with a 2 year protection plan. Thanks for the video; was contemplating trying a different JBL but I’ll stick with my Charge 4!

How loud the sound is on min? I live in a block of flats so i have to be quiet. But i'd like to listen to some music even at night because i'm usually very creative at nights xd

I bought a flip 4 off a kid at work for 20.00 he said it was blown up .i was like ok. Took it back to my toolbox at work i am a electrical fabricator and deal with a lot of metal dust and shavings. Ling story short. Metal dust had coated to whole speaker cone and stoped it from moving up and down. I blew it out with air cleaned it up and boom. 89.00 speaker for 20.00 this thing rocks

I have both and every now and then I wonder which one I prefer Flip 4 is amazing with treble and vocals and charge 4 with dance and bass based songs... So they are actually not comparable and yet complementary. I totally recommend both connected at the same time for a complete experience. If you ought to select only one then of course get the flip 4 since is more versatile across different genres and you can also answer calls while charge 4 does not have a mic.

It’s not designed to work with any JBL speakers that don’t have PartyBoost. So, it won’t work with your JBL Connect or Connect+ speakers.

I think it is, but that's my personal opinion. I'd say if you really need the sound to be louder than what the Flip 4 can provide, then yes. But if not, then you can probably pass it up.

I'd say either the Charge 4 or the Flip 5 for the higher volume. I think the Flip 5 sounds better, but doesn't get quite as loud as the Charge 4. I hope that helps.

I would go with the two Charge 3's.

if you put the charge 4 in low frequency mode, it drastically increases treble and bass quality and dB's of both. hold down the bluetooth button and volume down button at the same time for 10 seconds and do another review. lights will blink when LF mode is activated. do the same to switch back to "sound bad mode" this is not at all dangerous as JBL states and will not hurt your speaker. this video is very misleading because flip 4 shouldnt even be compared to a charge 4. night and day in every category. you can also run LF mode on other JBL speakers too and it drastically improves the sound quality.

It just depends on what you're going to use it for. If you care more about portability, I'd go with the Flip 4. If you care more about the overall volume and deeper bass, I'd go with the Charge 4.

You could have put something with a known size next to them... for example, you could have held them in your hand. Now I know that they differ in size, but still don't have an idea, how big they really are. (I know that I can read the specs, but seeing them next to something that I know would be much more informative)
