How´s it feel after a few days? Is it good for movies, big explosions, dialog etc? Video games also? Thank you

Hi Angelo, Been using it for at least a month now. Fantastic! Superb bass and quality audio for an entry level price range. The bass and lows definitely beats a previous LG 5.1 surround that i had used for 2 years. Totally wasn't impressed with the 5.1 LG sound system previously. For explosions, parts of my house vibrate. Metals like keys and loose stuffs like door bolts vibrates. You can *hear the vibration* . When I am in another room, someone else is using the speaker outside in the living room, I can feel vibration and stuffs in my room shakes as well. Its insane. Cannot imagine the 10" sub woofer on the 5.1 JBL. Dialogue is clear as well. Other than you know, typical with movies (especially horror), the talking is soft (have to increase the volume), but when the jump scare scene comes out, the sound becomes loud all of a sudden (Cant blame the speaker but the movies are like that). Same applies for games. *Fantastic, though the bass is too powerful for games, I had to lower the Bass to "LOW" to be on par with the volume level of soundbar.* I can hear and feel the lows, deeps. Like wind rustling and rumbling, where else these kind of sound totally cannot be heard from the stock Tv speaker. *Pros:* 1) Lows (Deep and vibrates things in house). 2) Loud for home theatre usage, unless you are living in a big ass mansion, then probably you will want to get a way bigger sound system with surround sound. 3) Love how it produces the ambient sound (Eg Wind rustling, subtle rumbling becomes obvious), produced from games and movies which I usually cant hear in low end cheap products/ stock tv speaker). 4) Sound like watching in cinema standard, except it has no surround sound. 5) Clear dialogue. *Cons:* 1) No 5.1 (no surround), but thats fine with me for now (No Dolby Atmos surround sound like i wrote), only Dolby Digital (?Plus?). 2) ARC only/ no eARC. Though i dont think I can even tell the difference in listening quality. 3) No Equalizer setting (be it physical remote control or via bluetooth app) 4) This speaker would probably disturb your neighbours if you are living in a flat/ apartment (If volume is 65% or more, depending how far they live from you). *Overall:* Very very happy and impressed with the product, performs better (excluding surround sound) and impressed me more than LG 5.1 (forgot the model) which i used for 2 years. You get what you pay. Because the quality is so good, I feel that If i will to upgrade to a 5.1 or higer, this would probably not go. It will be shifted to the room and its gonna be crazily loud for a room. Visitors to my house are impressed with the sound produced, and they talk about it naturally (They are not audiophiles by the way). Some ask about the bass. Kids say it too loud (and there are even louder models). Just got another visitor to my house, I did not mention anything about the equipment. She naturally said: *"Wow, sounds like in the Cinema huh?"*

@@angelocruz525 Hi Angelo, I have updated/ edit my previous reply for more details. You can read through again. Noted on your comparison. Apologies but I cant help you with the comparison on that/ wont dare to comment on Samsung Q600A/ other sound system which I have never ever heard of/ listened with my ears live. What I am sure of is that nothing beats going down to the shop and listen live with your ears, best if even have side by side. Because no matter how much you listen online, it will never be replicated 100% like the original sound live (even with a professional mic used).

Quick question: How clear and accurate are spoken voices? No annoying buzzing? No annoying overly loud peaks at certain frequencies? A year later do you still like the JBL 2.1? Long reason why I am asking if you have time to read my ramblings: I am looking to downsize my sit stand desk setup from: -(2) NHT Super Micros powered by a Yamaha HTR 5960 -(1) 10" Infinity Reference 1062W down firing vented subwoofer tuned to like 27hz (I built it) with a Crown XLS1002 powering the subwoofer -Schiit Hell 2E DAC headphone amp controls the volume of the setup (Schiit Hel 2E is a defective design that doesn't work with USB, only works with optical and have to leave it on 24/7 or it will require no power for hours to discharge the internals for it to work again after a power cycle) I realize any sound bar will be a downgrade from my setup but if I can get close I will be happy. There are a few sound bars I am considering: -Klipsch Cinema 400: ($250) self powered - in sound tests on KZread it sounds like the highs are overly sibilant and the midrange sounds where most voices exist are subdued so typical Harman V sound -JBL 2.1 Deep Bass ($250 original version of $350 for the MKII): self powered - sound tests on youtube make it sound like it also has the Harman V shaped sound with heavy emphasis on boomy bass but less sibilance on the highs -Denon S217 ($250) passive sound bar which would use my existing setup but very few online sound tests -Kef 7003 ($568) passive sound bar with more accurate sound and high quality construction and would use my existing setup but expensive! My wife and I have side by side sit stand desks with wall mounted 55" HDTVs as monitors. I just threw up a cheap Klipsch $100 soundbar we got from Walmart years ago that was collecting dust. Removed the desk speakers I had on her desk. Setup has much more desk top space now and looks much sleeker. Now I have to do the same to mine. Also my NHT Super Micros partially block my lower corners when I sit back. By the way I do use free download APO equalizer Pro to adjust the sound of my setup to compensate for the peaks my current configuration causes. There is a nasty peak at my desk between 80hz and 200 hz that I have to tame way down to even out the sound. I can adjust the sound of any sound bar I choose as long as it is just sound based and not physical vibration from flawed construction or digital circuitry like the iloud Micro Monitors we own. Thank you for posting the video and giving your thoughts about the JBL 2.1.

Hi, 1) No buzzing/ white noise sound for voice/ any action scene even when at 75% or higer (Which I dont even go that loud, its tool loud for home). Usually 50% to 60% is more than loud enough for home usage. I dont want to disturb others. At night when everyone is sleeping, i reduce it to as low as 7 of max 33 volume. Dynamic range is large (talking dialogue on softer side, explosions/ gunshots/action scenes are on louder side. I think this is normal, even in cinema. Wish there is a voice boost/ option to reduce dynamic range, like the newer higer end JBL. I have a feeling other soundbars are like this as well, for immersive effect. Some high end games, have the option to reduce audio dynamic range (I choose midnight/ narrow dynamic range in the game), and it helps balancing the voice dialogue and action scenes (Not too soft talking, not too loud action scenes). 2) Still loving the JBL deep bass after more than a year. Sounds and feels premium (shakes the house, man). 3) I would not dare to give me opinion on other sound bars, as I have not tried them.

Hi, thanks for commenting. Great question. Thats the thing. It can be rather confusing for powers and conversion. I myself is not an expert. As far as I know with my limited knowledge: Watt input does not mean same watt output power. It writes 100 watt *input* on the subwoofer. It means it supposedly uses 100 watt to work. Notice the term *input* . It produces 200 watt (loudness) from the sub woofer alone (in which manufacturer does not write on equipment). Though I would believe total input power for this JBL required would *PROBABLY BE LESSER* around ~55 watt for both soundbar and woofer (guess-timating from LG 300 watt equivalent soundbar set).

You can try JBL Party Bass, it does have 2 inputs for 2 different mics, and has Aux as well. There are many other brands as well for Karaoke, even no brand speakers as well. @@MintChoggy SPL is the sound pressure level measured in the unit db. That is how much db per watt per metre the sound pressure the unit produces. It is the actual measurement of the acoustic energy. Wattage is the maximum power in RMS can the speaker handle.
