it was difficult to choose between the 990B and this one.. listening in the store, both are very very good, 990B a bit better in the overal sound stage, but lacking a bit of bass.. Based on your review nevertheless opted for the jbl 1000 today, thanks

Thanks for the review. Good work.🙏 I’ve never bought a soundbar before, and was thinking of using this with my Viewsonic x10-4k projector. It has 2 x HDMI 2.0, HDCP 1.4/2.2 inputs (never used before) and one S/PDIF fibre optic audio output port. Is this enough to get the soundbar working?

Hi, thanks a lot for your kind comment. I would imagine the JBL 1000 would be more than up to the job to Rock your Fab sounding set up. But maybe go on JBL's official site and message them to be 100% sure. They are very quick to reply during office hours and I have just heard they have a coupon on their site to get £100 off! Wish I knew that before I bought mine but I still think It was a fair price for what it can do. My review was very basic, you can do tons more with this soundbar through an official JBL app that lets you tweak the sound to insane levels. I wish you well T Z happy soundbar hunting :)

How have you found the vocals/dialog? Couple of people have mentioned it's not as clear as it could be.

Hi, thank you for your kind comment. I have found the dialog on all the movies I have watched so far to be superb, crisp and clear. There is an official JBL App for this soundbar where you can tweak the sound to insane levels almost like when you produce and mix music to get it exactly like you want but to be honest I haven't really had to use it much as I have found the sound just perfect for me straight out of the box with just a few tweaks using the supplied remote. The only time I used the app was to tweak the sound when I was listening to music, mostly for fun to see what each change I made did. Again, as I mentioned before, it sounded great without me tweaking anything but it was fun to play around with the sound settings and I am learning and finding out new things this soundbar can do all the time. If your a gamer then this soundbar will blow your mind, it did mine. My son set up his PS5 and was playing the new COD game and it was simply stunning the amount of surround sound that filled the room. That game sounded as good if not better than any movie I have watched so far on this soundbar. Both me and my son are addicted to trying out every movie and game we have to see how they sound through the 1000 as we keep hearing new stuff we haven't heard before, crazy subtle sounds we didn't even know were on the soundtrack or insane overhead sound magically dispersed by the Dolby Atmos. You can tell I like the 1000 can't you lol :)

@@Teknobry I had the 9.1 for 18 months. An awesome soundbar but I found the placement of the sound not to be as accurate as the 1000. Nothing to do with the soundbar, my room was just a tad too small for the 9.1 to displace the sound. So if your room is on the large side then maybe go for the 9.1 as i never had any problems with it and it's price is so low now. £599 brand new here in the UK at Currys and even less on Ebay if you check daily. Whichever soundbar you decide on I am sure you will love it especially as there are so many classic films being released now with Dolby Atmos which makes my cinema room seem like an IMAX cinema now, I wish lol :)

Whichever you choose will be the right choice for you and with 20% off then your onto a winner, just don't leave it too late as bound to sell out before Christmas. I am watching the World Cup right now and the 1000 is making it seem like I am at the game or on the pitch!!! Sound coming in from all angles lol

Thanks, your not far wrong, recorded on my old school Nikon coolpix camera. Now I've sorted my home cinema set up maybe it's time I upgraded my camera :)

Hi, Having never owned or experienced the Q990B I cannot really say which soundbar is the best. I can only say that for me the JBL 1000 is the best soundbar I have ever owned or experienced. Maybe check out some more video reviews and work out what it is you want from your soundbar and which one would work best with your setup. Best of luck finding your perfect soundbar :)

@@jacobj8872 Hi, I never had any issues with dialogue when I had the 9.1 but the 1000 seems to do a better job with overall sound placement. Have no fear if you go with the 1000 as the dialogues are crystal clear even on Mad Max Fury Road which really showcases what Dolby Atmos can do. You can even hear every word that Tom Hardy is saying which is a first as he always just growls his lines lol :)

Hi, I run mine through the eARC HDMI on the sound bar to my TV which has HDMI 2.1 inputs. The 1000 has 4 HDMI ports, 1 out and 3 in, including the eARC so if your TV has a 2.1 HDMI then you should be fine. If you've yet to experience Dolby Atmos then your in for a real treat with this soundbar, it possitively ROCKS! If you are not sure then maybe go on the official JBL website if you want any more info.

Hi, I bought mine brand new online but as it was local I went and picked it up the same day. Had it up and running within minutes with no problems at all. This is the 3rd soundbar that I have bought from JBL, all have been excellent. Depending on your budget and what you want your soundbar to be able to do I don't think you can go wrong with any of the soundbars JBL offer. The 9.1 I had was awesome but I felt my room was too small to truly realise the sound it was able to deliver. The 1000 seems to be able to get it just perfect for how I want my home cinema to sound no matter the size of room :)

U didn't calibrate properly,the 1st calibration is to put the rear speakers at u desired seating area and then move them to the resting point for the rear speakers and then recalibrate stage2....&be quiet during this process!!!👍👍

@@benvenutinelmiocalalejbl9246 Personally I prefer to buy at launch rather than wait too long shopping around for a bargain as JBL's top end soundbars sell out fast. But then on the other hand If I want to add a second soundbar in another room in my house then I will hold off buying until I grab a bargain. Either way I know you will be Super Happy with your choice. Once you get your 1300 let me know as I don't think I will be changing soundbars anytime soon and would love to hear what you think of it :)

Hi, it uses JBL'S PureVoice technology. Both this soundbar and JBL's 9.1 deliver clear dialogue but if you find on some older movies where the dialogue is a bit low you can always tweak the settings which I have found always works on the movies I have watched :)

All 4 newJb soundbarsl has a app you can tweak the sound how you like+surround speakers will only charge in standby mode if connected to soundbar+jbl has £100 off discount code on their website..so its £899brand new

Nice one, I didn't know that. Just had a look at their app, just what was needed to make minor adjustments. Works especially well when listening to music as the remote settings I find are more suited to watching movies. Now everything I listen to through the soundbar sounds just perfect! Many thanks for that really useful info :)
