This is EXACTLY what some of want from you. The price ain't always the price. Tell us if it's worth the price. Tell us if something less expensive plays as well or better. Not asking you to compare a DD to a Pyle. Many us trust your experience and knowledge.

So at about 300 watts on each one, which is louder? Huge speakers require huge power. I like JBL because they are efficient to drive by an amp without extreme power modifications.

I’ve heard someone’s Jbl arena system and it was one of the best sq systems I’ve ever heard but they were using the arena 12 not the 8. I’ve seen the specs on the 8 and it’s only rated down to 50 hz which is pretty dumb considering that the arena 6 1/2 components are rated down to 20 hz 😂. But if I’m looking sq with solid out put I’d go for the Dayton Audio RSS210HO-4 8 or b2 rage 8 which are on sale rn

Honest opinion is important and even more so if it comes from people who have a lot of experience in using basses in that size.

$400 jesus dude. Lol. I know you're not a budget channel but pick up the grs 8sw-4he sometime if youre getting bored. Its great bargain for the price, fun point of reference for other subwoofers concerning price to performance. Im going to grabs 4 of the 12" size of them soon

i 100% agree with this analysis....ive used the 608 extensively and it peforms very well...wish it was 500 watts versus 1000 but cant have everything......i much prefer the lower wattage subwoofers...im currently using JL Audio 8W1-4X4 thats 600 watts worth of subwoofers and running at 4 ohms (on purpose) and using a B2 Audio 2500.1v2...which is about 1000 watts at 4 ohm...good electrical and good everything else....the JL performs period point blank.....just a great subwoofer,. looks good, sounds great, hit lows, very musical. People get in my 2015 GMC crew cab with a 2-1/2 seat lift and they cant believe they only handle 150 watts.......high quality trumps high power every single time. The 608 is great. I will say the Sundown E8 is the BEST bang for your buck on the planet....that sub delivers in spades....65cf per...no contest for $129...the JL is $$$$$$$$

This is a genuine question im still learning, i was wondering why you would want to run at a 4 ohm load, as it costs more to buy a higher power amp just to run at such a high ohm load. What are you gaining or what is the benefit of doing this? Thanks- Trent

@@TP47MX Trent thats actually a really good question most car audio enthusiast just can't get past. Im a SQ guy at heart but every now and then I like to slam a little bit. I like to run at 4 ohm or 2 sometimes to keep the amp cooler, give the amp more headroom, and increase the longevity of the amp but decades really if installed right. I get that most people cannot hear or perceive the difference in sound quality at 1 or 4 ohms....but I most certainly can. I've ran my system at 1 ohm on the same amp at 3 times the power and for sure you can get the most power out of your amp...no doubt but at a cost....when your amp runs at minimal resistance (1 ohm) it is working harder than at 4 ohms...this is why you get more power....but you also get more heat, more chance od shutting down, much greater chance of clipping, etc....if you know how to tune a system like I do then you can mitigate these cons somewhat and still get a good sound but adding $200 to the cost of an amp in class D to me is nothing so I just do that. My amp puts out 3000 watts at 1 0hm (if it ever sees that) and 1000 at 4 ohms....you would think logically that that much difference in power would surely make a difference is how hard it hits.....look at my choice of subwoofer. 8W1-4 even at 1000 watts of power I am still over powering them but not grossly over powering them....if I was running a B2 Audio Rampage 8 v2 I would run it at 2 ohms to get the required power for those but truthfully I cant listen to that much power...its to loud. Here is another example. I built a guy a box for 2 DD Audio 2508G Godzilla I think he calls them...I wired the drivers to 4 ohms...thats 3000 watts on the DD M8000 then he liked it so much he wanted two more...I told him no no no no no no 4 of these will be way to much on his DD Audio M8000...yes 8000 watts. I could not talk him out of it, so I went ahead and build the monster enclosure for 4 of those beast and he lasted a. month. I had to wire to 1 ohm on that enclosure and....to much like I said....I could have tuned the box down some but he was inpatient and went back to the 2 G7 box.....he actually put 2 G7 8" subs in the DD Audio box I made at 1.25cf per sub with 38" of port area and kaboom.....thats the ticket. Those G7 subs slam hard. So now he is sitting on 4 DD Audio 2508G subs which im sure he will play around with but loving the 2 8" subs at 4 ohms.Case closed...

@@dcaudio1thanks for your reply and info. That is what i figured, increasing longevity and less strain on electrical equipment. Makes sense to do it that way. Im currently in the process of planning out a project of two 8s in a hatchback but i think ive watched every MB video here and still cant decide on subs. Was leaning towards the resilient gold 8s but theres so many good options out there at the moment i cant decide. But you may have just changed my mind on my amplifier and ohm load.

@@TP47MX As long as you get the box and port right ny sub will sound great. You dont need to spend $400 per sub....I can make a $149 sub sound awesome....if you're chasing numbers then it's a little different but who does that and why? I dont drive around burping 40hz test tones...I listen to music.

I think it's just one of those things .. 💁 it's not as good as it should be for that price point.. for one the motor is far too small .. idc what kind of tech it has . 90 oz of ferrite motor just isn't gonna move serious mms .
