Extreme drummers don't seem to be as prone to do drum solos. Dial it back to classic heavy metal or European power metal and you get drum solos all over the place, but the extreme guys seem to be happy just playing songs and having a sick drum break here and there.

Mario is super-talented and always swings for the fences. His consistency in those patterns is elite.

Great reaction vids, I really enjoyed your reaction of Jamie St Merat and this one (like the swearing btw). I subbed. If you like more crazy (metal) drummers you could check: Baard Kolstad - The Sky is Red or Nighttime Disguise Ken Bedene Kevin Paradis Darkside - Exercises in Futility V Billy Rymer Ben Shambron Vlad Ulasevich II - Alkaline This is just a short list because there are so many insane drummers in Metal :D.

I generally could careless about any drum solos and even from my favorite players... To me it is like watching body builders pump weights at Muscle Beach and I just do not care... That being said Mario is definitely an exception to this... I would watch him jam out on a Hello Kitty set all day... Lastly??? Please tell me you HAVE NOT seen "Aquarian Reflector Series - Get your Eric Moore On!" Holy Hell I would love to see you react to that (I have no doubt you are aware of Eric Moore and as you would know he is not exactly a stranger to playing metal and I think could effortlessly waste most metal players at their own game) just so all the Metal Heads would drop their jaw at that performance despite it is not metal playing at all... But? Give me a break! Ill be damned if it cant compete with ANY metal player's Metal Chops... I know it might be off theme and otherwise if you have not seen it?? JUST WATCH IT NOW!!! and tell me I am NOT wrong lol... Ill also be happy to pick up the slack on the lack of cursing your mother wishes you would not... Mario is such a beast. Definitely one of my favorite metal drummers. All passion and flawless technique. Another, much more underrated, is Paul Seidel of The Ocean. Very different style though. Very controlled and measured, though still with a lot of groove and feel. The music has a lot more dynamics than Gojira too. A couple years ago they uploaded a drum play through of one of one my favorite songs of theirs Jurassic - Cretaceous (they have a geological theme going on).
