This live performance is incredible. I try my best to give people something to play with after every react, but this is another level of holy crap. The world should know this voice. This is some of the nuttiest singing I've ever heard.

    She sings like this everytime I promise.. Her voice is naturally raspy so its not like she is over frying her voice.

  • @LesageSinging

    @LesageSinging

    3 жыл бұрын

    We may not be using the term vocal fry in the same way. She intentionally throws in fry for color. I probably didn't do a good job pointing out when she fried versus when she didn't. If her voice was naturally like that all the time then she'd have vocal damage and she wouldn't be able to produce a clear tone (think Bonnie Tyler). She has clean, clear, and crystal tone up the wazoo when she wants it. She does it intelligently and safely, but I point out the risks for anyone with aspirations of mimicking it. Fry can cause vocal hemoraging if done incorrectly. Jazmine has masterful control of her breath so I don't worry about her safety. I just worry about people trying it at home after watching my point it out. I feel responsible for the safety of people learning. I hope that makes sense.

    I'm glad I have chilled out and am trying to find new music to listen to. I was so ambitious in my aspirations to sing opera for a living that I sacrificed my joy of other genres for 14 years. I haven't been so inspired to practice for years now. These artists people are telling me to check out are absolute legends. Jazmine is by far the best I've heard so far too

    Love you bro! One of the best reaction vids I’ve seen. Thanks. But…she can stretch and stress her vocals to the limits for hours. If you ever have a chance to see her concert you’ll see. It’s just her skill set bro🤷🏽 She’s been singing like this since she was 11yrs old effortlessly. Once in a lifetime talent. I do agree if you don’t know what you’re doing or your own limits that you should NOT try those raspy vocal tricks for elongated periods of time. Respect✌🏽

    I have it video posts planned for the end of this week. I gave it a listen already though. I've never heard a child singer that I think is prodigic in a way the best singers who grow up are. More impressive to me than her having stellar chops at 11 (which she does) is how she went on to be a singer on the level of Ela Fitzgerald.

    Your reaction is priceless you really understand the complexities of the singing style and the use of the voice. Many not all caucasian vocal coaches really don't understand her style of singing, it's too much for them with all the complex things she does. Because the diction is not pristine and clear like Pop, and some of them just say she is good and can't expand on their answer, which further let's me know they need to come out of their bubble. I don't listen to the new music because many are just average and they run all over the place and don't know how to fall back into the correct note. I still listen to 90's music when there were great singers but Jazmine Sullivan came along and I am so so happy she can sing and she has perfected her style.
