I don't feel drake is hip hop, but he is a rapper. In my opinion there are only a few hip hop artists out now and plenty of rappers. Hip hop is about the struggle it's not about whose selling the most records. You can't change the meaning of what hip hop is. I like some of drake songs but he won't end up with any classics that you'll play in 20 years by being a rapper, that is reserved for hip hop artists.

He doesn't want to get beat up" *Kendrick sneak diss Drake* "That wasn't at Drake! Stop reaching!" *Meek exposed him using a ghostwriter, getting his chain chain took, getting slapped by puffy, and getting pissed on* "What a terrible diss! Back to Back was way better! lol L for weak Mill " *Drake bandwagon other artists to ride their wave* "It's called BUSINESS! Drake is being smart by being relevant and make new music" After all this, I can't see Jay, Kendrick, Meek , Hell not even Nas and Eminem could make able to "body" Drake out of rap. Most of Drake's staying power comes from his own popularity and fan base. So he can't be like Ja-Rule , Mobb Depp, MC Eiht , or NWA and be turned to a laughing stock if someone made a diss Track to him. What's sad is its not about him being a good rapper, it's just his popularity.

R.I.P L.A Yo fam, you're not reading. Jay and Common are both Hip-Hop legends that diss Drake hard. But at the end of the day, nobody will take that in. Pac and Big are dead legends. I'm talking about current rappers today.

How do you know that? Nas , Eminem, and Jay Z used to be more popular in their prime , but now the spot light is now on Drake. Today, people today see old rappers as "washed up" . In no way I'm saying Drake is the better rapper than the legends. I'm saying how overrated he is and people keep defending him blindly. Again, Drake still stays current because of his popularity, not his talent.

Like I said at the end of my reply above, ghostwriting is something everyone great has done during their careers. And I mean pac, Biggie, 50 , J ect... They all have a bunch of rappers that sit around and write during their sessions. If someone comes up with some bars that fit a different song perfectly better, then it will be used and the other way around. Its part of their everyday work. Thats 100% reality that they will never admit to. Look at NWA and how they used to work. It was created that way. Period. Like it or not.

Drake isn't going to have a career like Jay, Snoop, ice cube, 2pac, big daddy Kane, nas, rakim, biggie, ll cool j (he had the songs for women like Drake but he can really spit) etc, where their music (CLASSICS) is still being played 20 years from, and they have new and their old fans still rockin with them. Drake gone have a career like Nelly. Have a good 10 run and it's a wrap. Singing about women gets played out, then it's gone be on the next cute rap/singing nigga. I wonder if Drake gone even get his masters when it's all said and done. And Drake ass still scared of Kendrick. You all notice he don't make a whole ass diss song to rappers that can actually rap, he just be sneak dissing like a mf

This is what make Hip Hop, Hip Hop. Competition between artists. Intellectual, subliminal sparring. I like it too Academiks. I'm interested in seeing what this will blossom into. An era where artists' lines or bars can mean several different things. I know this isn't anything new, but I'm seeing it happen more I think.

Oh, how about author write short stories that become premises, or become subplots of a larger story. Yeah, you know Biggie on the Wake Up show spit verses from his songs and we all know that dude is a big time hack.

Jay-Z popularizing subliminal disses?! Nigga, u ever heard about a guy named Notorious B.I.G --- aka, the guy Jay mimicked his whole persona off? Kick in the Door is a diss song and some niggas don't even know about it. And he was dissing the likes of Nas.
