It's amazing how Jay-Z and Kanye took an Otis song and used it as a basis for a rap song. That was some genius stuff. BTW Otis Redding sang the original version of "Respect". Aretha Franklin's version was so great that Otis said "well, I guess it’s that girl’s song now.".

You have to be alive to collaborate, Redding has been dead since 1967. If he were alive today I suspect he would have turned down West, Redding was a proper musician, singer, band leader, song writer, arranger, not some sampler wielding parasite.

Otis Redding was one of the greatest soul singers of the 60's & of all time - I saw him headline the Stax/Volt revue in London in 1967 where he proceeded to blow everyone away - he must be turning in his grave along with Wilson Pickett and Carla Thomas(the original Queen of Soul) at this cheap garbage travesty. It's talent free buffoons like Kanye West who have made a living stealing/sampling/auto tuning, great artists work and in the process destroying Black music.
