    Hey Jay loved the video! It would mean the world to me if you were to respond to my question considering the amount of knowledge you have! I have stumbled upon a 5' St Croix Triumph ultralight spinning rod for 65 dollars and was wondering if this would be a good rod for walleye fishing as well as the odd pike and smallmouth. The owner purchased it and has barely used it so he's selling it for very cheap. I just want to make sure this rod would work and work well for what intend on using it for. Thanks! Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

  • @adamfield3317

    @adamfield3317

    That is too light for those species. A 6.6 medium light would suit you much better. Ultralight would be better for panfish

    @@adamfield3317 I've used ice fishing rods for jigging and they work fine. I don't think the size of the rod is the issue I was just curious whether it's a good rod. I already have a 6.6 medium rod with a 2500 size spirex but was looking for something a bit smaller for kayak fishing and jigging.

    St. Croix is a good brand of rod overall. I suggest you look at their website and see what information you can find about this rod. If he's selling it cheap enough it might be worth buying as a panfish rod and getting something else for more all around walleye fishing. stcroixrods.com/
